2. It's a pandemic seen in developed and developing nations, with rising rates.
3. Even countries previously struggling with malnutrition face obesity-related issues.

DIET – MY FRENNEMY

Yes, this is what I now refer to dieting in my weight loss struggle days. I thought it to be my friend but in reality, it was my worst enemy.

In my 25 years struggle with my body to lose weight, I tried all possible diets. Some of them I followed were No carb diet, Carb only diet, GM diet, Protein only diet, No protein diet, No fat diet, Liquid diet.

While I did lost weight after following diet to the letter, soon I was dieting not to lose weight but to maintain myself at the same weight. Once I broke down, sooner I was invariably heavier than when I even started.
I just don’t know why this is happening so in spite of religiously following diet to the letter.

Now after studying obesity and weight loss in details and transforming my body effortlessly without dieting and exercise, I know exactly why diet was my worst enemy and why every time I was gaining weight after my breakdown.

SOCIAL PRICE OF OBESITY

While I was struggling with my body, socially I was paying a high price. Here are few of them.

I was socially shy
I had very low confidence
I had very low self esteem
I was body shamed
I was ridiculed and referred by ridiculous synonyms to my obese body
I became uncomfortable in groups
I terror being ridiculed for my body
I terror being made fun of
I was very uncomfortable with the member of opposite s*x
I feared being judged as lazy, weak, overindulgent or careless

Dieting = Prison term
1. You have restrictions all the time and are continuously monitored Jailor vs dietician
2. You always fear doing things you are not supposed to do.
3. Craving of freedom vs craving of favourite food.
4. You don’t like it though you have to go through it anyhow.
5. You are always in countdown mode always thinking when it is going to end with the belief that once you go through it, life will change and you will be able to live a normal life ̣

GYM-INTIMIDATION....
Trying to lose weight, you might be suffering from gym-intimidation. This is a condition when a gym looks like a horror house and the thought of exercise sends chill down to your spine. You get totally intimidated and finds excuses to avoid this at all cost.

The good news is that IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT and the bad news is that until you resolve the underlying issue, this feeling will not go.

Life of a New Year Resolution to exercise........ 4-5 days

Yes this is what exactly happens. When trying to lose weight, we delay doing exercise or going to gym. At the end of the year, we motivate ourself and opt for a gym membership which we ideally use for a maximum of 4-5 days and again go back to our same old sedentary lifestyle. The survey graph speaks the same.

Please take the shame and guilt out of you if you are one of those doing this. This is not your fault. You can overcome this habit and lose weight without dieting or exercise the way I did in my journey.
