Hijama is an ancient form of medical treatment in which a partial vacuum is created in cups on the surface of the body and small scratches or pin pricks are made onto the skin under the cups.
ICAHT Centre for Hijama/Cupping Therapy was established by a small group of Health Professionals and cupping enthusiasts who have been working together in the field of cupping therapy since 2008.
The purpose of the organisation is to help revive the practice of cupping on a global scale to the highest professional level by introducing and promoting safe clinical standards to the practice through both practitioner and public education and via the formulation of a regulatory structure and framework.

ICAHT Practitioners
ICAHT practitioners are qualified health professionals that have gone through a vigorous process of training and assessment to ensure that they are competent at practicing clinical hijama therapy in a safe way, in line with international standards of professional conduct.
Practitioners study the entire human body from head to toe as part of their education process and have an in depth knowledge of how hijama influences human physiology. Understanding how the body works is an essential aspect of helping recovery from illness, disease or simply optimising bodily function.

With the current comforts we have unfortunately the lifestyle we lead is very unhealthy. As you know very well that unhealthy lifestyle is detrimental to their health that can have catastrophic consequences.
This combination of cupping therapy and controlled bloodletting has been utilized for over 3000 years and was a practice the prophet Muhammad(PBUH) promoted and recommended as an inspiration from God.
The practice of wet cupping was also an integral part of more recent medical practice as it developed in the Middle East and was used up until the 1800’s even here in the UK. It has been believed to have multiple therapeutic effects and is proving in modern times as an effective aid in assisting many medical conditions.
Although a simplified explanation wet cupping can be likened to a mechanical form of leaching allowing small quantities of blood to be released from swollen and painful areas of the body, to give relief, promote healing and to regain function and balance within the body.
