Research Program Overview:
The IRoN (Integrated Research on Neuroscience) initiative at MSMF integrates wet lab investigations, patient-based clinical studies, community-focused preventive research, and bioinformatic projects to advance translational neuroscience research. Several Neuroscience Research Programs are ongoing. Programs integrate different phases of the translational trajectory in neurological diseases with a vision of making society-percolating impacts.

Initial appointment will be for 6 months (probationary period), extendable as per
performance in the initial 6 months.
Eligibility:
Essential:
1. Master's
degree in Neuroscience, Translational Medicine, Cell/Molecular Biology, or
allied life sciences domains.
2. Available
to work in MSMF on-campus regularly.
Desirable:
1. Computational thinking and Machine Learning skills (e.g., R, Python-based programming skills)
2. Neuroscience MSCs/MTechs/MPhils are preferable. Medical candidates with relevant skills are
also welcome.
Experience preferred (will be prioritized):)
1. Cohesion ability between wet lab and patient research: Hands-on experience in cell culture techniques, laboratory investigations, and patient sample management.
2. Translational aptitude: Experience of translating discovery research outputs to patientcare.
3. Bioinformatic data analysis: Familiarity with molecular data analysis and visualization, multi-omics databases, tools, and pipelines.

Screening Algorithm:
shortlisting based on CVs ➡️Online or offline (for Bangalore-based candidates) interviews of shortlisted
candidates➡️Submission of academic documents ➡️ Final selection for joining (top candidate)
Key roles:
a) Cell culture & wet lab operations: Performing and maintaining cell culture protocols, conducting laboratory investigations, processing biosamples, and ensuring quality control measures for neuroscience research studies.
b) Patient-based research engagement: Identifying, screening, enrolling eligible study participants with informed consent; collecting demographic, clinical data, and biosamples; research data entry, deidentification, and preparing documents for regulatory bodies.
c) Laboratory & translational data management: Meticulously recording accurate experimental results, adhering to industry standards and biosafety-compliant protocols.
d) Project activity support: Work in alignment with team members, including scheduling experiments and
assessments, managing equipment and consumables supplies, and tracking timelines across lab-based and clinical studies, presenting assigned research articles and research work from time to time. Assist seniors with grant writing, ideation, SOP preparation, quarterly report submission, manuscript management, and publication process.
e) Computational analysis (optional but preferable): Supporting analysis of primary (wet lab experiments) and secondary (bioinformatic and neuroinformatic) data.

MSMF has five major centers: Mazumdar Shaw Center for Translational Research (MSCTR), Technology Business Incubator (TBI), Advanced Diagnostic Research Center (ADRC) and Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Outreach Program (MSCOP).
