2116 km Apart — Yet United by Innovation!
In a landmark achievement, Prakriya Hospitals, Bengaluru, has successfully performed India’s first remote robotic gastric tumor resection surgery, redefining the boundaries of modern medicine.
A 75-year-old patient, previously turned down by multiple hospitals due to the case’s complexity, underwent a successful procedure led by Dr. Santhosh R., Consultant GI and HPB Surgeon, and his expert team.
Using the SSI Mantra Advanced Robotic Surgical System, the surgery was conducted remotely from the SSI Headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana, while the patient was in Bengaluru — bridging an extraordinary 2,116 kilometers through technology and precision.
The team has also accomplished successful hernia and gall bladder telesurgeries, showcasing the limitless potential of robotic surgery.
With this milestone, Prakriya Hospitals becomes the second hospital in Bengaluru to achieve such advanced robotic capabilities — a proud step toward a smarter, safer, and more connected future in healthcare.
