This was indeed a pleasure to see on Google today! 😊 This dear patient was misdiagnosed and had gotten no relief with prior meds and taken third opinion with me recently. A case of Referred otalgia (pain in the ear that's coming from elsewhere!)
He finally felt better and dropped this review without anyone from our team asking for it 😇
There's no bigger joy than when the patient puts their trust in you and you do your best for them!
Me getting the diagnosis and treatment right isn't a testament of what was given was wrong, but simply that the history taking in this case was inadequate and the patient was being misdiagnosed simply because of that 😅 what a pity!
Lesson: Never ever ever discredit history taking! It's the most important tool in a clinicians' armamentarium.. No matter how long it takes, no matter how annoying it can be sometimes, remember to take it well and that's the most important part of clinical management.
Side note: This also makes the patient feel heard so sometimes that itself is the reassurance they need to begin with! 😇😇

World sleep day! The one day that medicos more than anyone else should be jolted about- The importance of sleep and the importance of recognising sleep disorders early along with seeking appropriate treatment is something that's rarely spoken of!
In general, 50-70million worldwide suffer from some or the other form of sleep disorders and these are the recorded numbers! How can we not be talking about this!
Let's work to increase our awareness about sleep and health and uphold the 2024 theme of world sleep day being: 'Sleep equity for global health'
And for all my fellow medicos let's remember *Sleep isn't waste of time* and pay a tad bit of attention to our sleep quality and cycle alongside the trillion other tasks we do for public welfare! Remember a healthy we'll slept doctor means triple the number of healthy lives ✅

Retuning. Recalibrating. Revamping.

Hello to my Instagram fam! It's been a while.. Ever so often we get completely consumed into a life that we did not entirely choose. A life that might not be our own in it's entirety. Be wary of that life for it may not be what makes you happy from your true core self..
For all the missed moments of sharing, for all the rushing through of quick stories and no posts, for all the posts that became drafts but never made it to the post grid... Here's my token of gratitude to my OG fam who never stopped to check on me sending DMs and keeping the traction on in this page..
in my space again looking to churn the creative wheels that give me little joy 😊 the reason why I started this space in the first place!
I will be sharing all my old times posts as a series of whilst live updates keep going as they will..

Celebrating with the two that made it all happen and continue to do so every single day❤️
Becoming a doctor isn't easy no doubt but supporting one is even harder..
Many many years of my dad staying up with me for every single exam and struggling to stay up whilst I studied to dad waking up super early every day that I have an early surgery now to make me a black coffee cuppa, even if I beg him to go back to sleep! I can proudly say that i have made my dad's childhood dream come true..
Mum has lived my medical career with me! From every human emotion i endured to every bad case that made me blue, Amma has always been the one to show me perspectives that I would probably lose in the battle against a world where empathy was not meant to be seen as a driving force but to be seen as a weakness.. for the many many hours of calls with me to the many shallow naps that she'd take in the midst of my about to go into exam hall call and exam went well/sucked call(lol) I can't think of how many nights of toil they have put it for my journey..
So every single day my service to mankind is only the ex*****on of the dreams they saw, of the prayers they made and the hands that nurtured me to achieve what I always knew was my destiny..
To my brother, sister in law and my niece, to my mentors from school and beyond..it's only when it all aligns does the magic ✨ really happen!
On doctor's day 2023, i pledge to continue doing more and bringing in change that the world of ENT and healthcare as a whole needs.. I pray that my hands do no wrong and that I use my skill and my voice to achieve milestones higher and beyond..
Happy doctors day to a generation of healing dreamers and their pillars of support🎆
