“nānānáṃ vā́ u no dhíyo ví vratā́ni jánānām”
'Various are our acts, (various) are the occupations of men;...' -Rig Veda (9.112.1)

Human thoughts and actions are diverse in nature. Strangely, some want all to be singular... and even the Gods are not spared.

Us versus them, In my scheme, they don't matter or exist and finally, some are more privileged has become the norm. A complete flip from “privilegia ne irroganto” (Roman law that claims 'privileges are not to be enforced') to 'Privilege is everything, even with God' concept.

How then can there be peace, honour, equanimity and universality? Former President of India Sri S Radhakrishnan said 'the highest good of man is not the pursuit of pleasure but moral goodness' but in today's power mongering divisive society, who will provide civil, moral, and spiritual guidance equitable to all?

By the way, the world is celebrating the 'National Goat Yoga Month'! Yes, it’s a whole month dedicated to the delightful fusion of yoga and goats, bringing joy and relaxation to many! ...a special time when yoga enthusiasts and animal lovers unite to practice yoga with goats.

Let's hope for a day when all of humanity unites to celebrate just humaneness in humanity... pure, simple and with no room for privilege!

God bless us all.

"santoṣaḥ sadhu-saṅgaśca vicāro’tha śamas tathā | eta eva bhavām bodhāv upāyās taraṇe nṛṇām"
'Contentment, good company, thorough investigation of the truth and cultivation of tranquillity – these only are the means to cross over the ocean of samsara.' -Yoga Vasistha (2:16-18)

The MahaKumbh is almost coming to an end for the present. People by the millions have gone to take a dip. The big question is, what is it that has been achieved!

Life is one big flow, a continuous process of transformation, a change that must be discernable... but we all hang on to the old, unwilling to change.

Parivartan - change, transformation... is the key to all of evolution and creation.
This doesn't happen overnight, but without an active involvement and commitment to change, one cannot attain anything.

Spirituality essentially takes you through a process of transformation from being 'self-centric' to 'self as center' to finally becoming selfless.

Becoming one with the universe makes you boundless... completely free. That is moksha - Nirvana or Liberation.

Attain it.

God bless us all.

"Hathon ki lakeeron pe mat ja ae Ghalib,
Naseeb unke bhi hote hain jin ke haath nahi hote."
'Do not go by the lines on the palm of hand Ghalib, Luck is bestowed even on those who do not have hands' -Mirza Ghalib

We as a society have completely surrendered to the thought that we are but mere puppets in the hands of fate. Everything about us is pre-ordained and life unfolds as per the script meant for each individual.

The Creator surely is not such an egoistic tyrant... each individual has the capability and choice to make one's own script, one's own world and universe.

What is needed is clarity of thought and dedicated action towards fulfillment. Most importantly, inclusivity, equanimity and magnanimity that make everything sweet.

Today is the International Childhood Cancer Day: A day observed to raise awareness about childhood cancer. A day to express support for children and adolescents with cancer, it's survivors and their families.

There exists a great need for equitable access to care and treatment for all children affected by cancer... but social and political will waxes and wanes depending on the whims of those facilitating.

Remember, while today is ours, tomorrow is that of children. Let us not destroy their tomorrow by ignoring today.

Think, act

God bless us all.

"Greater than all things moving and inert, than the Ocean, O Passion, you, O Love, are the eldest of all, altogether mighty. To you we pay homage!" -Atharvaveda (9.2.22)

The world today celebrates Valentine's day... a celebration of romantic love, friendship and admiration. Starting off as a non christian fertility ritual, it got christened as St.Valentine's. The irony is, St Valentine was executed on 14 th Feb!

What started as gatherings where people read love poetry and played games of flirtation became a day of public display of private emotion specific to romance and eroticism.

Ancient India had a different view towards Romance and love Gandharva vivaha, from the Āpāstamba-Dharmasūtra to Yājñavalkya, K**a was accepted and revered, evolving into an art... It was only made impure by perverted minds restricting it to lust and religion.

Stop viewing everything with a perverted mind. There is happiness and harmony in mutual respect that goes beyond.

Think.

Today is also the National Organ donors day. The greatest gift one can give is that of wholesome life... gift an organ, tissue, marrow, platelets, or blood. Make someone's life more full.

Give

God bless us all.

"One may distinguish between good and evil actions, listen to the scriptures, but doubt still persists. Skepticism continually dwells in the heart, so who can eradicate egotistical pride? Outwardly, he washes with water, but deep within, his heart is tarnished by all sorts of vices. So how can he become pure? His method of purification is like that of an elephant, covering himself with dust right after his bath!" — Ravidas, Guru Granth Sahib (346)

Today is sant Ravidas's birth anniversary. Ravidas or Raidas was an Indian mystic poet-saint of the Bhakti movement during the 15th century.

Considered by his devotees as someone who was the living symbol of religious protest, Ravidas ji fought for the removal of social divisions of caste and gender, and promoted unity in the pursuit of personal spiritual freedom.

To talk ill about any religion is unacceptable but to talk about illnesses in a practice helps to rectify and strengthen. Claims that such ills and more exist in other religions do not justify your continuation or make yours any better.

To think that someone, somewhere since generations have been fighting these ills only show the festerings.

Social inequality and division has always been a major cause of rift that continues even today. In the name of an invisible God, we have created visible differences forcing some of our own to split and move away. Nobody needs an external enemy... the one within is more than enough.

Remember, your mind is everything... what you think you become. Nobody is more than you in your life. Strive to become better by the moment. Let no religious differences and distinction destroy you and your abilities. Do not loose your true self and true identity... be proud of your roots, they alone will be your strength during turbulence.

God bless us all.

"yogino bibhyati hyasmādabhaye bhayadarśinaḥ ||
'The Yogis are afraid of it, for they see fear in it where there is really fearlessness.' -Mandukya Karika (3.39)

Life comes with its fair share of dualities... inherent pairs of opposites like light and dark, good and evil, pleasure and pain all an integral part of human experience.

Reality is, we all have only one life each. Lived to its fullest, one is enough, feared, any number mean nothing. Avoiding leads you nowhere. Face it, find your peace.

Remember, if everything was perfect, there would be no opportunity to learn or grow. Worries only feed and multiply your troubles.

You are not the only one with troubles... but you are the only one to face your troubles.

Learn to face, learn to fight.

God bless us all.
