Samyama Academy of Yoga was founded to share and inculcate a path of practice and penance among its students. Focus, perseverance and a strong will for peace form the core of the classes at Samyama. Samyama believes that every human being has taken form to make progress along the lines of peace and happiness and it is only the lack of time to understand the self and a lack of determination to repl

enish the right understanding at key decision moments that cause confusion and suffering. Samyama intends to create an atmosphere of learning and sharing where students can focus intensely on their body-mind complex and make conscious progress.

Weekly Schedule (IST):
• Mon: 6am Led (permission only)
• Tue–Fri: 5–8:30am Mysore (self‑paced, guided)
• Sat: 6am Vipassana (open & free)

Fees (Monthly)
• All Mysore: ₹3000 ($65)
• 5–8 classes: ₹2500 ($50)
• Up to 4: ₹1600 ($24)
• Aditthana Scholarship: Attend all classes → Pay nothing

Global Times:
• EST: Previous evening (Sunday to Friday)
• Asia/Australia: Mid‑morning to early afternoon
• India: Early morning

Kurmasana - lowering and pushing up. This movement has helped me measure my Kurmasana comfort.

With every asana, you have a choice of approaching it with strength and comfort or just trying to somehow end up in the pose. I have felt better with my practice from the time I started ignoring what asanas I could “perform” and focused only on those that I felt strong enough to practice. All my effort then redirected itself towards strength, stability and mobility. This has given me greater confidence to practice knowing I was working within my range and avoiding injuries.

You could try this as well. Work within your range; build strength and mobility and enjoy your practice with lesser avoidable injuries. Be authentic to your practice. Avoid following the herd.

No asana is needed to be peaceful in life. The practice of asana is always a choice. Choose wisely.
