Dental injuries are true emergencies. Unfortunately, most people hesitate or choose to wait it out, and that delay can cause permanent damage.

What you should do immediately when a dental accident occurs:
• Stay calm and act quickly
• If a tooth is broken or knocked out, gently pick it up by the crown (the top part), not the root
• Rinse it with milk or saline; do not scrub
• Try to place it carefully back into the socket if possible
• If reinserting isn’t possible, keep the tooth moist in cold milk or inside the cheek
• Apply gentle pressure with clean gauze to stop bleeding
• Reach your dentist within 30 to 60 minutes — this is the critical window when the tooth has the highest chance of survival
