Another inspiring story of healing and hope.
Addiction and mental health challenges no longer define her life, they’ve become the foundation of her strength.
Thank you, Sneha, for visiting Agape and sharing your powerful journey of recovery and transformation.

At Agape, we believe healing begins with awareness, compassion, and connection.

In-House Sharing by Namrata Edwards, Founder of Agape.

“Without consciousness there is no freedom.” – Eckhart Tolle

Addiction often arises from past wounds and pain, a way to cope with emptiness we once felt. Our reactions today are often reflections of that past. True healing begins when we face these wounds, not to stay stuck, but to grow through them.

Recovery is about rediscovering what we lost along the way, our connection with our true, authentic self.

Healing is ongoing, and you are not alone.
Remember: You are seen, heard, valued, and loved.

At Agape, we walk together on a journey of transformation, through acceptance, awareness, connection, and consciousness, guiding each soul gently toward recovery.

Healing begins when we face ourselves with honesty and love.
We had a session on Defects of Character with insights on Self-Love and Growth in Recovery.

Twice a week, Agape opens its doors to recovering addicts and alcoholics to share, connect, and grow together.

Session on Self-Acceptance by Manisha, Centre Coordinator

I couldn’t have begun my journey of recovery until I learned to accept myself, all of me, both the positives and the negatives, without conditions. I experienced multiple relapses, but through this holistic program and by the grace of my Higher Power, I’ve come to embrace my imperfections fully.

I now recognize that I am human, capable of mistakes, but also capable of growth. I see myself as a ‘work in progress,’ constantly learning and evolving. Today, I choose to treat myself with kindness and understanding, especially when I fall short.

Every day, I celebrate my qualities and small accomplishments, building a stronger sense of self-worth, accepting both my strengths and weaknesses without judgment or the need for external validation.

Mental health isn’t as complicated as it may sound. It’s about how we think, feel, and cope with stress. Just like physical health, mental health is equally important.

Addiction is often linked to trauma, depression, and pain, where people turn to escape routes that only worsen mental health over time. At Agape, we are breaking the stigma by respecting and honoring the courage of women who seek help, free from judgment and full of acceptance.

There is no shame in talking about mental health or addiction, it’s an essential part of our well-being. Through our psycho-spiritual program, we empower women on an inward journey of self-discovery.

Most importantly, we remind them of Hope. Recovery is not a race, it’s a journey, taken one day at a time.

Addiction isn’t born from curiosity, it’s born from absence. From wounds left unhealed, from the silence of loneliness we learned to carry. It’s not the substance itself that binds us, but the fleeting promise of relief it offers.

At Agape, we honor the uniqueness of every client. There is no one-size-fits-all path to recovery. Each person has her own rhythm, her own capacity to embrace the program. Here, we don’t strive for perfection. We strive for steady, meaningful progression.

At Agape, we are blessed to welcome different resource people who share their personal journeys, helping us strengthen our women’s recovery programs.

Our morning began with hope, motivation, and deep connection. A heartfelt thank you to Tejas for taking the time to visit and share his powerful journey from street to seat. While addiction may not be curable, it can be arrested through the consistent practice of the 12 Steps in our daily lives. By caring for ourselves and staying present, not dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, we find healing and strength.

Tejas, a recovering addict, reminded us that recovery is possible one day at a time.

Nobody wakes up one day and chooses to be an addict or an alcoholic. No one turns to substances because life feels good.

We were grateful to welcome Bandhu Daju (lovingly known as Jojo in Darjeeling), who shared his powerful journey with us. A multiple relapser, now over 60 years of age, he carries with him more than 10 years of sobriety. His story is a reminder that recovery is a daily effort, rooted in faith, trust, and surrender to a Higher Power of one’s own understanding.

Recovery is not an “I, me, myself” journey. It’s a “we” program, where support, connection, and humility guide the way.

At Agape, we recognize that no two recovery journeys are the same. There is no “one-size-fits-all.” Every client is unique, with her own pace and capacity to embrace healing. Our focus is always on progress, not perfection.

We were honored to have Mr. Cecil George visit Agape and share valuable insights on recovery. He led an engaging and interactive session that encouraged our clients to look deeper, addressing the underlying issues behind addiction.

At Agape, we hold firm to the belief: it’s not about why the addiction but why the pain. Our focus is on healing at the root.

As a space for women, by women, we believe the path forward lies in empowerment, helping women reclaim their strength and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
