Momo's Exceptional Recovery: Momo, a cherished family pet, was rushed to the veterinary hospital presenting with hyperpyrexia, anorexia, severe abdominal pain, and vomiting. Notably, Momo had undergone routine spay surgery two weeks prior. Following a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, Momo was diagnosed with septic peritonitis, a potentially fatal condition. Initially, treatment consisted of closed drain peritoneal lavage, antibiotic therapy, and intravenous fluid administration. Although Momo recovered, the infection relapsed within one week of discharge. Subsequently, a laparotomy was performed, and an open drain system was implemented, supplemented with antibiotics and intravenous fluids, resulting in a successful recovery. This remarkable outcome is attributable to the expertise of our veterinary team and Momo's resilience. Key to Success:

A poignant example of metastatic lung disease originating from mammary gland cancer, which was excised one year prior, highlights the vital importance of early spaying (female pet sterilization) in preventing similar outcomes. A 10-year-old female German Shepherd underwent surgical excision of mammary neoplasia in May 2024. On April 16, 2025, the animal presented with a history of lethargy, hyporexia, and unusually high-pitched tracheobronchial sounds. Notably, the pet survived with extensive pulmonary metastases, which exhibited a characteristic 'cotton ball' appearance. Comparative radiographs from May 2024 and April 2025 are provided.
