The positives first: meeting a remarkable group of thoughtful, purposeful colleagues — inspiring each other, sharing ideas, and reconnecting with faces that always bring a smile.
A proud moment was the launch of our book, Illustrated Manual of Cornea – Diagnosis and Treatment — do grab a copy. Grateful to Dr Uma Sridhar 🫰
The Distinguished Service Award came as a complete and humbling surprise.
And the elections… they marked something important. 3,623 colleagues stood up courageously for the idea of change. Your support was not merely a vote — it was a generous expression of trust, encouragement, and a shared belief in the values we spoke about together.
In a system where politics has deep roots, meaningful change is always a slow process — but this feels like the beginning of a new era.
AIOS 2026 will stay with me for many reasons. Gratitude, reflection, and renewed resolve. 🙏
