ANNOUNCEMENT
&
CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Title: REHABILITATION OF COCHLEAR IMPLANT RECIPIENTS: ILLUSTRATIVE CASE STUDIES
Date: August 19th -20th, 2016
Venue: Dr. S.R. Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing, Bangalore
Organized by:
DEPARTMENT OF HEARING STUDIES,
Dr. S. R. C. Institute of Speech and Hearing, Bangalore
AIM:
The aim of this CEP is to provide a forum for experienced practitioners in the field of Cochlear Implant rehabilitation to enlighten the outgoing graduate/ post graduate students as well as budding professionals. This is in continuum with the 3 day National level workshop, AUDISHCON 2016, organized by us on 10th to 12th March 2016, titled “Implantable Hearing Devices: Now and Beyond” (which focused more on the technical side). As you are aware, “Rehabilitation” is seldom covered in the academic curriculum and with the number of beneficiaries increasing by leaps and bounds, it appears to be the need of the hour.
HIGHLIGHTS:
The highlights of this programme is to mold practicing therapists with the the skills of providing speech, language and auditory training across various age groups of Cochlear Implant recipients. Another interesting feature is video demonstrations of each topic by the resource persons that would enable the audience for better comprehension of the subject. In addition, the platform is an opportunity for the students to showcase their therapy skills through video presentations as well as explore and discuss issues in rehabilitation.
It is our great pleasure to invite you all to participate in this programme and also to present papers. The programme schedule is attached along with. CRE accreditation is awaited.
REGISTRATION:
All presenters and participants are requested to register for the CEP. Registration fee for students is Rs.800 before 30th July, 2016 and Rs.1000 thereafter.
Registration fee for professionals is Rs.1000 before 30th July, 2016 and Rs.1200
