The healing nature of creative arts has been known for centuries. However, the use of arts in therapeutic settings was first organized much later in the 1930s using theories proposed by Sigmund Freud & Carl Jung. By nature, arts are a container that holds our whole self, and in therapy, it helps us restore our wholeness and connect us to our human nature.
Arts in therapy go beyond diagnosis and prognosis. Arts in therapy are truly about living the human experience.
Discover all this and more in the Foundation course in Expressive and Creative Arts Therapies – FECAT, a year-long training program that starts in January 2026 and trains participants to become Expressive Arts Practitioners using modalities of Therapeutic Communication, Expressive Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, Visual Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, Play Therapy, Community Work, Caste and Mental Health, Trauma Informed Practices and Q***r Affirmative.
