The body stores memories. It is a reservoir of feelings and emotions buried deep within. The language of the body cuts through barrier and border, state and society, class and country. It is not taught or spoken, it is felt and learnt.

When we work with the arts in a therapeutic environment, we learn to decipher the signals that our body gives, in stillness and in motion. We learn the language of our body.

The Foundation course in Expressive and Creative Arts Therapies (FECAT) is a year-long training program that starts in January 2026 and trains participants to become Expressive Arts Practitioners using modalities of Therapeutic Communication, Expressive Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, Visual Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, Play Therapy, Community Work, Caste and Mental Health, Trauma Informed Practices and Q***r Affirmative.

Applications are open for the Jan 2026 batch. Details here https://smartmove.co.in/fecat/

A felt sense functions as a connection between the mind and body. People experiencing a felt sense feel more in tune with their body and bodily processes, and often even feel as if they can feel themselves within their stomach or chest.

The concept of felt sense can be characterized by the concept as a combination of emotion, awareness, intuitiveness, and embodiment. The felt sense is often unclear; people cannot specifically verbalize what they are feeling, but often describe it as a vague awareness of things ranging from old psychological traumas to burgeoning ideas.

Discover all this and more in the Foundation course in Expressive and Creative Arts Therapies – FECAT, a year-long training program that starts in January 2026 and trains participants to become Expressive Arts Practitioners using modalities of Therapeutic Communication, Expressive Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, Visual Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, Play Therapy, Community Work, Caste and Mental Health, Trauma Informed Practices and Q***r Affirmative.
