"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be." -

Patanjali

Our core focus at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SSCHRC) is to serve, treat and rehabilitate patients suffering from cancer. We at SSCHRC also believe that there is a great need to focus on prevention of cancer through cancer awareness initiatives and research both in community environment and also in the laboratories. The objectives of establishing this charitable cancer hospital is to :

- Provide state-of-the-art treatment to all cancer patients at affordable costs irrespective of caste, creed, and socio-economic status.

-To offer free treatment to the poorest and set aside 10% of beds and services for this purpose.

-To reduce the incidence of cancer in the rural areas and also to detect cancer in early stages through various interventional initiatives.

-To make the treatment affordable by reducing the basic cost of treatment and enable the patients to obtain state-of-the-art contemporary treatment.

-To provide medicines at highly subsidized costs.

-To develop a Centre of Research under eminent scientists and medical professionals so as to drive the research activities towards reducing the cancer burden in the society, improving the treatment standards, and by academically remaining in the cutting edge of science.

-To establish a Paediatric Cancer Centre of International Standards. We are seeking donations from Corporates, Government Agencies and Philanthropic Individuals to help us complete the project at the earliest, and enable us to treat more and more patients suffering from cancer. 🚨 A small white patch in the mouth could be the first warning sign of cancer.

Dr. Vinayaka Muniratnam, Senior Consultant in Medical Oncology at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, explains why oral cancer has become one of India’s biggest health concerns — especially among men. ⚠️ To***co, smoking, supari, alcohol, chronic mouth ulcers, and even HPV infection can increase the risk of oral cancer.

Watch out for these early warning signs:
🔹 White patches (Leukoplakia)
🔹 Red velvety patches (Erythroplakia)
🔹 Non-healing ulcers
🔹 Difficulty swallowing
🔹 Persistent bleeding or roughness in the mouth

The most powerful weapon against oral cancer is EARLY DETECTION. Because oral cancer develops in visible areas, even small changes can be identified early — improving the chances of successful treatment dramatically. 💙

At Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, we believe awareness is the first step toward prevention and cure.

Your voice is more than sound — it’s life, identity, and connection. And sometimes, it’s also a warning.

Laryngeal cancer (voice box cancer) often begins with a slight hoarseness, a subtle change in voice, a breath that feels heavier than usual. What many dismiss as “just a cold” could be the body’s earliest signal asking for attention.

Dr. Karthik N Rao, Head & Neck Surgical Oncologist, explains:
• Why smoking and to***co dramatically increase risk
• How early symptoms like voice change can save lives if detected in time
• The importance of timely diagnosis through endoscopy and imaging
• Advanced treatment options — from organ-preserving therapies to life-saving surgeries
• Most importantly — early-stage detection offers up to 90% survival

This is not just information. This is intervention. Because cancer caught early doesn’t just extend life — it preserves quality of life.

If you or someone you know has persistent voice changes, difficulty breathing, or throat discomfort — don’t wait. Don’t guess. Get checked. 👉 Early action can mean the difference between losing your voice… and saving your life.

Scaling Clinical Excellence

At Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, our mission is more than just treating cancer; it’s to redefine how the world understands it. Our clinicians continue to make waves on the national stage. Congratulations to Dr. Veeksha Venugopal for securing Third Prize in Oral Presentation at GYPSICON 2026 for oral presentation of her work – “Digital tumour budding assessment in endometrial carcinoma and survival outcomes, a clinicopathological study in a tertiary cancer hospital” focussing on how we are integrating precision oncology into real-world patient outcomes.

Furthermore, Dr. Shalaka’s poster presentation – “Beyond the Common: Exploring Rare Histological Types of Uterine Neoplasms” underscores our commitment to tackling even the most complex oncological challenges.

Awards are a by-product of our culture. When we invest in research and innovation, we aren't just winning prizes at conferences - we are giving our patients access to the future of cancer care today.

We are more than just a hospital; we are a research powerhouse dedicated to the next frontier of cancer care.

Breathing is something we take for granted, until it becomes a struggle. Asthma doesn’t always start with a dramatic attack. Sometimes, it begins quietly — a lingering cough, mild breathlessness, or fatigue you ignore and that’s where most people go wrong.

At Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, we believe that early awareness prevents serious complications — not just in cancer, but in every life-impacting disease.

🎯 Dr Arjun S Kashyap, Pulmonologist, explains:
✔️ How to Identify asthma early (before it worsens)
✔️ The importance of simple tests like PFT & peak flow monitoring
✔️ Why inhalers are NOT addictive — but lifesaving
✔️ Hidden triggers in your daily environment
✔️ How lifestyle + vaccines can prevent severe attacks

💡 Reality Check: Asthma is not a weakness. It’s a manageable condition — if you act early and stay consistent. 🚨 Ignoring symptoms like:
• Persistent cough (15+ days)
• Breathlessness during routine activity
• Wheezing or chest tightness
…can lead to repeated hospital visits or even ICU admissions. But here’s the good news 👇
With the right diagnosis, adherence to treatment, and preventive care, you can live a completely normal, active life.

Not all symptoms scream danger, but some whisper warnings you should never ignore.

A simple sign like ni**le discharge is often overlooked, dismissed as harmless, delayed, or ignored. But in certain cases, it can be your body’s earliest signal for something serious.

🎗️Dr. Lohita Krishna, breaks it down:
✔️ Which types of discharge are normal
✔️ When it becomes a red flag 🚨
✔️ Early signs of breast cancer you must not ignore
✔️ Simple tests that can save your life
✔️ Why early detection = near complete cure

💡 Here’s the truth: Most breast conditions are treatable. Many are benign. But delay is what turns manageable into life-threatening.

If you notice:
🔴 Bloody discharge
⚠️ Persistent or spontaneous leakage
⚠️ Associated lumps, pain, or skin changes

👉 Don’t wait. Get checked. Because in cancer care, timing is everything.

It often starts with something we ignore: acidity, bloating, or feeling “too full” after a few bites.

But sometimes, these small signs can point to something much bigger.

Dr Sandhya Appachu, Medical Oncologist at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, breaks down stomach (gastric) cancer in a way everyone needs to understand:
⚠️ Why your stomach’s natural flexibility matters—and what happens when it’s lost
🚬 The real risks: to***co, alcohol, H. pylori infection & unhealthy diet habits
🍽️ Early warning signs like difficulty swallowing, early fullness, vomiting, or sudden weight loss
🔬 How simple tests like endoscopy & biopsy can detect cancer early
🛡️ Modern treatments—from surgery to targeted therapy & immunotherapy

Here’s the truth most people don’t hear enough: 👉 Stomach cancer is highly treatable when detected early.

And prevention?
It starts with everyday choices—what you eat, how you live, and when you decide to get checked.

📢 Don’t ignore the signs your body is giving you. 👉 Watch. Learn. Share—this could save someone’s life.
