Our core focus at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SSCHRC) is to serve, treat and rehabilitate patients suffering from cancer. We at SSCHRC also believe that there is a great need to focus on prevention of cancer through cancer awareness initiatives and research both in community environment and also in the laboratories. The objectives of establishing this charitable cancer hospital is to :

- Provide state-of-the-art treatment to all cancer patients at affordable costs irrespective of caste, creed, and socio-economic status.

-To offer free treatment to the poorest and set aside 10% of beds and services for this purpose.

-To reduce the incidence of cancer in the rural areas and also to detect cancer in early stages through various interventional initiatives.

-To make the treatment affordable by reducing the basic cost of treatment and enable the patients to obtain state-of-the-art contemporary treatment.

-To provide medicines at highly subsidized costs.

-To develop a Centre of Research under eminent scientists and medical professionals so as to drive the research activities towards reducing the cancer burden in the society, improving the treatment standards, and by academically remaining in the cutting edge of science.

-To establish a Paediatric Cancer Centre of International Standards. We are seeking donations from Corporates, Government Agencies and Philanthropic Individuals to help us complete the project at the earliest, and enable us to treat more and more patients suffering from cancer. Dr. Sasi Mouli, Consultant Endocrine & Breast Surgeon, was invited as faculty to ITSCON 2025 – Indian Thyroid Society National Conference organised by Dr Shashank Joshi & Dr Ritesh Agrawal on 15th & 16th August at JW Marriott Sahar Mumbai. As part of the scientific sessions, Dr. Sasi Mouli judged the paper presentation segment, chaired two insightful discussions on Thyroid Autoimmunity and Vitamin D in Thyroid Disorders and also felicitated the winners of the paper presentation competition.

Head & Neck Cancer Treatment & Heart Health – New Global Insights
“Global Incidence and Mortality of Myocardial Infarction in Multi-Modality Head and Neck Cancer Treatment: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis”

Dr Karthik N Rao, HoD, Head and Neck Oncology, SSCHRC along with experts from across the globe in this systematic review & meta-analysis of 85,948 patients reveal that the global incidence of myocardial infarction (MI) after multi-modality head & neck cancer treatment is 1.7%, with global pooled mortality of 42%.

Takeaway: Integrating cardiovascular surveillance into cancer care can improve outcomes and save lives.

He delivered a talk on "Chronic Pain: Hurt to Comfort" in the session on Pain and also chaired a video session on Nerve Blocks. He was also the faculty for the workshop on Chronic pain.

Robotic cancer surgeon,HIPEC and PIPAC specialist at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, was invited as faculty for the Colorectal Cadaver Hands-on Masterclass at M.S Ramaiah University.

Dr. Vishnu delivered an in-depth session covering Basics of LAR & ISR: Principles and Technical Aspects, leading into a live cadaver demonstration with a fully equipped Cadaver OR station.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A with the participants touching upon advanced surgical insights.
