"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds, your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be." - Patanjali

Our core focus at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SSCHRC) is to serve, treat and rehabilitate patients suffering from cancer. Our commitment to leading from the front was perfectly embodied by Dr. Karthik N. Rao, our Consultant and HoD, Head & Neck Oncology, at the IAOHNS (Indian Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery) National Conference 2025 in Surat. His selection as a moderator for the main hall session on managing intermediate and advanced laryngeal cancers was a testament to his profound expertise and our hospital's pioneering work in this specialized field. This interaction not only highlighted his authority but also demonstrated our hospital's role as a centre of excellence, a place where innovation and compassionate care converge. The heartfelt appreciation and recognition received at this national forum serve as a powerful validation of our unwavering dedication to medical and surgical excellence.

Laughter, joy, and hope—these are the real ingredients of a healthy life. We all know that good nutrition is the foundation of well-being, especially for those we cherish most.
At Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, we believe that education is the most powerful tool in the fight for a healthier future. This belief came to life during National Nutrition Week 2025, where our passionate first-year B.Sc. Nursing students of Sri Shankara College of Nursing stepped up to create a powerful awareness campaign. The 3-day event, with its theme "Eat Right for a Better Life," wasn't just about lectures; it was a vibrant, hands-on exploration of the power of food. On day one, students prepared delicious and nutritious meals specifically tailored for maternal and lactating mothers, showcasing how simple, thoughtful choices can nourish both mother and child. From a hearty oats Puttu for breakfast to a protein-packed dinner of paneer parathas and sabji, they brought science to the plate. Day two saw them meticulously crafting "My Plate" and "Food Pyramid" models, turning abstract nutritional guidelines into tangible, easy-to-understand visual guides. The final day was a feast of knowledge and flavour, focusing on meals for toddlers and school-going children, with creations like oats-banana pancakes and soya wheat noodles proving that healthy eating can be both simple and delicious.
This initiative, guided by our esteemed faculty - respected Principal of Sri Shankara College of Nursing, Dr. Lakshmi A., Professor Riya Mathew and Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Sri shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, was more than a series of events; it was a testament to our commitment to a holistic approach to health. Our students are not just learning to treat illness; they are becoming ambassadors of wellness, equipped to guide families toward a healthier, more vibrant life. By reducing sugar, salt, and oil in their creations, they championed small changes that lead to monumental benefits.
Your journey to a healthier life starts here, with knowledge and support from our expert team. We are not just a hospital; we are your partners in wellness, dedicated to guiding you and your loved ones toward a brighter, healthier tomorrow.

True beauty is found in the courage to heal, and our commitment is to restore both body and spirit.

This past weekend, in the vibrant city of Bengaluru, a pivotal event in reconstructive surgery unfolded at BRASCON 2025, organised in association with Breast Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons Association (BRASA) and the Karnataka Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KAPRAS). Here, the nation's leading experts in breast reconstruction convened to share knowledge and advance surgical techniques. Among them was Dr. Radhika Kapahtia, expert Plastics and Reconstructive surgeon at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, who took the stage to share her profound expertise.

Dr. Radhika delivered an invited talk on the latissimus dorsi flap, a crucial technique for whole breast reconstruction. Her presentation was a testament to her skill and our dedication to offering advanced, compassionate care. She didn't just discuss a procedure; she presented a pathway for breast cancer survivors to reclaim their bodies and their confidence. Her insights, shared with peers are a beacon of hope, demonstrating how specialized surgical excellence can transform lives.

⁨📷⁩ ⁨At the intersection of science and compassion, we find the future of cancer care—a future we are helping to build.

In the hallowed halls of Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, a silent, powerful revolution is underway, driven by the unwavering commitment of its brilliant minds. This is the story of two of our oncologists, Dr. Sreeram M.P. and Dr. Karthik N. Rao, whose tireless pursuit of knowledge has now echoed through the prestigious pages of Head and Neck Pathology, a journal with an impressive impact factor of 4.1.

Their pioneering work delves deep into the very heart of the fight against Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC), a relentless foe. They have shed new light on the critical issue of cervical lymph node metastasis, a factor that critically impacts a patient's journey. Their research meticulously explores the potential of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) as a minimally invasive tool to detect occult disease, charting a course towards a future where treatment is not only effective but also less burdensome on the patient.

With the authoritative voice of their publication, they champion the integration of emerging tools—from immunohistochemistry to AI and radiomics—to improve diagnostic precision. More importantly, their work advocates for a standardized approach to minimal nodal disease, a crucial step toward refining treatment decisions and, ultimately, reducing the risk of overtreatment. Their findings are a beacon of hope, promising a more precise, personalized, and compassionate approach to cancer care. It's a powerful narrative of compassion meeting cutting-edge science, where every discovery is made with a patient's well-being at its core.

When we trust in a skilled hand, we find the courage to face even the most complex challenges.

In the hallowed academic halls of SGPGI, Lucknow, at the 16th Postgraduate Course of Endocrine Surgery, Dr. Sasi Mouli, our Thyroid and Breast Cancer Surgeon from Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, was the Chair for three scientific sessions.

Dr. Sasi Mouli guided discussions on topics that are at the forefront of surgical innovation. He steered conversations on the delicate art of difficult airway management in thyroid tumours, the recent advances in managing primary hyperparathyroidism, and a lively debate on pre-operative Alpha-blockade in Pheochromocytoma. His role as session chair is a powerful testament to his expertise in thyroid cancer surgery.

This is more than a professional milestone; it is a reflection of our hospital's unwavering commitment to being at the cutting edge of medicine.
