I would like to congratulate you for taking the 'first step' towards a more comfortable and effective life and lifestyle for yourself. My strongest desire and passion is to assist people in understanding self and others better so as to be more aware of one's strengths and limitations. Such awareness brings clarity of our concerns and helps us in resolving them to create a happy, comfortable and ef

fective life for self and or loved ones. We are all similar yet unique with our different set of perceptions, exposure and upbringing. Hence, each session and client is amazingly special for me. With the inspiration from my extensive experience and the learning from my diverse exposure, I am able to provide assistance for various concerns. I counsel clients for various issues (relationships, family, parenting, career, lack of motivation, life confusions, loss of someone, studies, self esteem etc), help them feel better and motivated, inspire and train them to achieve their goals. I also conduct workshops and group therapy on various topics like work-life balance, stress management, study skills, relationships, emotional intelligence, team building, communication skills etc. The services could be used through 1 on 1 sessions (face to face) or even through phones/skype or e-mail in case meeting is not possible. Therapy with me is a helpful tool for one and all as it provides a safe and comfortable space for anyone for share about self and one's concerns. In today's world, where lot is kept inside, we are all becoming increasingly negative since we keep most of these emotions inside and suppress them deeper within us. As a human being, expression of emotions is our basic need after getting food and shelter. Therefore, counselling is a must and beneficial for all. Some of the issues are given below for you to understand if you are facing any issue and if you can benefit from 'My Therapy'.
1. Depression: Depression is a mix feeling of helplessness, worthlessness and hopelessness. It is an intensely sad feeling about the self and things around one self. People look towards medication as an instant respite. However, each one has the innate capability and strength to come out of any such melancholy with therapeutic interventions. Here one learns to deal with issues on his/her own which boosts their self confidence and morale for future events.
2. Anxiety: A feeling of restlessness and inner turmoil caused by fear of anticipated events. Often, it leads to sleep disorders, eating disorders or personality disorders. Therapy helps people to come to realistic grounds and helps you come to terms with the situation. It also makes them realize that excessive worrying is not helpful. A calm and steady state of mind enables the individual to make better decisions.
3. Emotional Conflict/Turmoil: Emotional turmoil is a negative psychological state involving feelings of confusion, panic and agitation. Often, this causes an individual to undergo physical discomfort. Therapy helps one analyze the sources of his/her distress and seek rational perspectives.
4. Fighting Fears/ Phobias: An overwhelming and unreasonable fear of an object or situation. Here an individual assesses the situation to be far more threatening than in reality. This leads to anxiety and avoidance. It might also stop one from doing activities one would like to do. With the help of techniques like ‘systematic desensitization’ and ‘graded exposure’, one feels confident to face the fears and live a more effective life.
5. Relationship Issues: Love is one of the most profound and complex emotions known to human beings. Harmonious and positive relationships provide strength and support in one’s life. Being complex in nature, it can often lead to conflicts like clarity of communication, intimacy, respect and trust etc. There are different types of relationships and each one is unique and complex in its own ways. Different types of relationships include: parent-child, dating, marriage, boss-employee, colleagues, friends, family etc. With the help of counseling, you are able to understand the issue better and see where it is coming from and resolve it.
6. Personality Development: Each person has different patterns of thinking, feeling and responding. So, each person is unique and must be understood individually. Everyone needs to be heard and is able to be more happy and effective if he/she has someone who understands them. A good therapist would be that someone who would not only help you feel and perform better but also help you develop your overall personality including aspects like confidence, self image, self value, relationships, self-esteem/respect, career choices etc.
7. Stress Management: Stress is a part of everyone’s life. Believe it or not there is good stress too called eustress, the one that helps us push ourselves and prepare and perform better. Different people have different stressors which can cause them stress. Bad stress can lead to high blood pressure, breathing problems, lowered digestion and Immunity, sleeplessness, even high risk of heart attack or cancer etc. There could be many reasons for one’s stress. Some examples are: loss & bereavement, family problems, financial matters, illness, job issues, time management, relationships (including divorce), abortion, becoming a mother or a father etc. Even other issues like noisy neighbors, bad traffic, pollution etc could cause severe stress to some. It is very important that we work on managing our stress better or the effects could be alarming. A therapist would help you include helpful techniques and lifestyle modifications (depending on your individual style) so as to help you manage your stress and be a more effective and healthier person. There are many more issues like anger management, family/couples therapy, emotional intelligence etc. As I have mentioned each one is unique and so is their life. Hence, there would be different types of difficulties faced by different people. But no matter what your concern is, I would try my best to assist you in resolving your issues/concerns/confusions. Together we will work on 'empowering' you so that as you move ahead in life, you become more stable and strong and develop your skills of making your life amazing by using all of your potential to the maximum.
