Fibroheal

Fibroheal Fibroheal is a Biomodified silk protein based wound dressing.

FIBROHEAL is a leading biotech and healthcare start-up company working exclusively on “Silk Proteins” as “Biomaterial for Wound Healing” focused on active as well as advance wound care management. Fibroheal is made from the fibroin part of Silk Protein and its efficiency is further increased by addition of a saponin constituent called Asiaticoside. The rough surface / Duller side of the dressing or the bilaminate is Hydrophilic / Exudate absorbing which remains in the contact of wound and leads to sccafold formation and faster tissue regenaration. The smooth surface is hydrophobic in nature and prevents moisture, dust and bacterial entry yet allows free passage of air through pores of the film.

C-section scars typically vary on the basis of cut/incision type (horizontal or vertical) and how the body heals, resulting in types like: normal, hypertrophic, keloid, or stretched scars.
Talking about types of Scar Tissue Formation

Hypertrophic Scar: Refers to a raised, thick, and firm to the touch, but stays within the boundaries of the original cut/incision.
Keloid Scar: Refers to a thick, raised scar tissue that grows beyond the edges of the original cut/incision. These are more predominant in certain skin types and can be itchy.

Why do we need to explore wound vocabulary?

Understanding wound terminology is essential for precise assessment, consistent documentation, along with effective communication among healthcare professionals, which directly impacts patient safety as well as healing outcomes. It permits clinicians to distinguish between types of wound (For instance: slough vs. necrosis), monitor healing progress, and opt for appropriate treatments.

Wisdom Wednesday - "Wound Word Of The Day"

Recovery takes several weeks to months, based on severity.
