Not a heart, but it’s at the heart of the issue. ❤️🩹

This striking laparoscopic view from a recent surgery for fibroids and endometriosis shows a heart-shaped uterine fibroid arising from the pelvis. While these are benign (non-cancerous), their impact is anything but small.

Common symptoms include:

Heavy bleeding 🩸

Pelvic pain & pressure

Frequent urination

Constipation

Sometimes, even large fibroids can be asymptomatic, making early detection vital!

👩‍⚕️ Don’t ignore the signs. If you’re experiencing discomfort, consult your gynecologist.

A Silent Battle Won: Priya’s Journey 🎗️

In the heart of Bengaluru, Priya’s dream of motherhood was met with a shadow she couldn't see. After years of heartbreak and a missed diagnosis elsewhere, she came to us seeking answers for secondary amenorrhea and infertility.

The hidden culprit? Ge***al Tuberculosis (Pelvic Koch’s).

Despite a previous surgery and a year of anti-TB medication, Priya was still struggling. When our team stepped in, we discovered:

Persistent abdominal adhesions.

Malformed, non-functional fallopian tubes.

A rudimentary uterine horn that was complicating her health.

The Turning Point:
With Priya’s trust, we performed a precise corrective surgery to clear the adhesions and remove the abnormal structures. Today, Priya is healing, and her path to fertility is finally clear.

India sees Ge***al TB in 10-20% of infertile women. It is a master of disguise, but it is not unbeatable.

This World TB Day, we honor survivors like Priya.
Test. Treat. Triumph.

Endometriosis is NOT just a reproductive condition — it’s a full-body disease.

Many women think endometriosis only affects the uterus or ovaries… but the reality is much more serious 👇

⚠️ Endometriosis can spread beyond the pelvis and affect multiple organs in the body.

🧠 Lesions have been found in:
• Lungs
• Brain
• Diaphragm
• Skin
• Bowels

This condition is known as extra-pelvic endometriosis, and it can cause a wide range of unexpected symptoms.

đź’ˇ Why is it often missed?

Because symptoms don’t always look “gynecological”:

🔹 Chronic bloating or digestive issues
🔹 Chest pain during periods
🔹 Shoulder or nerve pain
🔹 Severe cramps that feel “normal” but are not

This is why many women are misdiagnosed or diagnosed late.

🚨 Important Reminder:

âť— Severe period pain is NOT normal
âť— Ignoring symptoms can delay diagnosis
âť— Early detection can protect fertility & quality of life

👩‍⚕️ Treatment Insight:

✔️ Diagnosis: Ultrasound + MRI
✔️ Treatment: Advanced laparoscopic surgery (gold standard)
✔️ Hormonal therapy may give temporary relief

If you’re experiencing unusual symptoms beyond period pain, don’t ignore them.

Endometriosis is more than just period pain — it can silently affect your fertility and pregnancy journey.

Many women don’t realize that endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility, with nearly 30–50% of women facing difficulty in conceiving due to this condition.

đź’ˇ So, how does it affect fertility?

🔹 Causes inflammation in the pelvis
🔹 Leads to scar tissue that can block fallopian tubes
🔹 Affects egg quality and ovulation
🔹 Makes implantation of the embryo difficult

All of this can reduce the chances of natural pregnancy.

But here’s the important part 👇
✨ Pregnancy is still possible!
Many women with mild to moderate endometriosis conceive naturally, while advanced treatments can help in other cases.

⚠️ During pregnancy, some risks may be slightly higher, like:
• Preterm birth
• Miscarriage
• Placental complications

👩‍⚕️ Early diagnosis and the right treatment plan can make a huge difference in preserving fertility and ensuring a healthy pregnancy.

If you’re experiencing severe period pain, irregular cycles, or difficulty conceiving — don’t ignore the signs.

Afraid of Hysterectomy?
You have choices! 🛡️✨

Many women dread a hysterectomy because they only know about Abdominal Hysterectomy—an open surgery that often requires 1–2 months of rest.

Did you know there are minimally invasive alternatives?

Vaginal Hysterectomy: Uterus removed entirely through the va**na.

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy: Keyhole surgery with smaller incisions and faster recovery.

Robotic Surgery: High-precision for complex cases with minimal pain and downtime.

While some cases still require abdominal surgery, it's worth exploring minimally invasive options first. Consult Dr. Madhuri Vidyashankar for an expert second opinion.

The Silent Risk After IVF: What Women With Endometriosis Should Know

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can silently affect fertility and sometimes lead to complications during fertility treatments.

In a recent case, a young woman undergoing IVF developed severe abdominal pain and persistent fever a few days after egg retrieval. Further evaluation revealed a large ovarian abscess, a serious infection that required emergency surgery.

The silent risk after IVF: What…

With timely medical care, the infection was treated and both ovaries were preserved, protecting her chances of future motherhood.

Months later, the same patient successfully conceived through IVF and delivered a healthy baby.

✨ Important reminders for women undergoing fertility treatment:
• Persistent fever or severe pain after IVF should never be ignored
• Early diagnosis can prevent serious complications
• Fertility-preserving surgery is possible even in complex cases
• The journey to parenthood may have challenges, but hope always remains

Your health and fertility deserve expert care and timely attention.
