the first chapter of the Yoga Sutras is just half a sentence, not even a full sentence. The sentence is like this, “And Now Yoga.” What do you make out of it? Intellectually, it doesn’t make any sense, but experientially what it is saying is, if you still think that building a new house or finding a new wife or getting your daughter married will settle your life, it is not yet time for yoga. If you have seen money, power, wealth and pleasure, you have tasted everything in your life and you have realized that nothing is going to fulfill you ultimately and work in the real sense, if you have gotten that point, then it is time for yoga. All the nonsense that the whole world is involved in, Patanjali just brushes it aside with half a sentence. This is why the first sutra is “and now yoga.” That means, you know nothing works and you do not have a clue about what the hell this is. The pain of ignorance is tearing you apart. Now, yoga. Now there is a way to know.
Consecrated Space
When it comes to the transmission and teaching of yoga, Sadhguru has laid down a cardinal rule: “Without a committed atmosphere, there should be no transmission of yoga.”
“If you transform mud into food, we call this agriculture. If you make food into flesh and bone, we call this digestion. If you make flesh into mud, we call this cremation. If you can make this flesh or even a stone or an empty space into a divine possibility, that is called consecration.”
– Sadhguru
The space has been graced with the presence of Sadhguru Sannidhi, Linga Bhairavi Avighna Yantra, Dhyanalinga Yantra. Experientially, I have personally observed teaching in the consecrated spaces has a different dimension to it. In-terms of how the practices have evolved in just a few sessions to how the participants have felt with in themselves, there has been a significant difference. Be it to relieve your back ache and stress or looking for an intense space for sadhana, a lot of care has been taken to create and maintain the committed atmosphere.
Teacher
I am Surabi Bharadhwaj- A mother - A trekker. To tell in few lines about my story, I have done my Masters from NITK, Surathkal. I quit my job aspiring to startup. As a hardcore business women came across Sadhguru and Isha foundation in 2015 when I was looking for business solutions in one of the MIT videos. Rest is just a filler in the story. I got trained by Isha hatha school of yoga, Coimbatore. As intense, transforming and enriching the training was so has the teaching been till today. I am just intending to transmit this powerful tool in its highest purity.
