A weak planet (कमजोर ग्रह) in the birth chart shows inherent weakness of the organs or body parts signified by that particular planet. It should be interpreted as lack of strength and vulnerability of the associated body parts but not necessarily a disease (of course, vulnerable parts can easily catch disease). However, there is scope for improving the strength of those body parts by taking necessary steps and remedies in long term.

An afflicted planet (पीड़ित ग्रह) in the birth chart can show diseases or injuries of the body parts or organs signified by that afflicted planet. Here, the body parts or organs may not inherently be weak but they can temporarily be affected by a disease or injury. Medication and treatment are the only option.

*Notes:
1. Weakness of planets is different from affliction of planets.
2. Effects of weak planets are long term and may not be severe but effects of afflicted planets are short term and severe.
