Training on:
Soybean cultivation, processing and product development and strategies for soy food based Enterprise
Soybean has a tremendous potential to be transformed into number of food and Industrial product. Soybean offers a healthy diet source and has become preferred vegetable protein. Edible protein of Soybean contain 42 percent protein, 20 percent oil, 21 percent complex carbohydrate, 5 percent minerals, and 4 percent fiber. Soybean is best plant protein least expensive and affordable by on and all. A number of healthy food products (Soy milk, soy curd, soy sauce, soy nut, soy Srikhand, soy fortified biscuits and bread, soy idli, soy sweets, Tempeh, and soy cake) are developed. Consumption of Soybean in daily diet helps to prevent many disease and lead to better health.
India's hunger level is marked as serious in global ranking. The prevalence of under nutrition and hunger among in vulnerable section of both urban and village community is of great concern. Over last few decades protein intake has declined to 13 gm per persons per day. In recent years low reaching has declined in village, resulting milk shortage to the economically backward and clean. Soybean, being low cost source of quality nutrition is recognize as a solution to help meat nutritional security. Therefore, it is a need to develop Soy food Enterprise to make available, nutritious Soy product, to meet nutritional requirements of our population at low cost. Even Soybean can be made at each house hold level for routine daily diet.
A training program is organized to educate. The farmers for cultivation of Soybean at their land, stock the produce year round and daily use for process soy food development of their chain. The NGO and Entrepreneurs will be trained for commercial production of soy products and marketing.
Till today, Soybean is not becoming a regular crop in the cropping pattern in West Bengal as well as in Eastern India. Through training and demonstration of Soybean cultivation and product development. The nutritional requirements of poor community can be met.
