🌸🩸 NORMAL PLACENTA FACTS 🩸🌸

The placenta is your baby’s life support during pregnancy 💛

1️⃣ A normal placenta attaches to the upper part of the uterus.

2️⃣ It provides oxygen and nutrients to your baby.

3️⃣ It removes waste products from your baby’s blood.

4️⃣ It produces important hormones that support pregnancy.

5️⃣ It is connected to your baby through the umbilical cord.

6️⃣ It usually grows along with your baby throughout pregnancy.

7️⃣ After delivery, the placenta is expelled — this is called the “afterbirth.”

🤍 A healthy placenta helps ensure a healthy pregnancy.

If you ever experience bleeding or unusual pain, consult your doctor immediately.

Measles vs Rubella vs Chickenpox – don’t confuse these rashes 👶🦠

Although all three present with fever and rash, their clinical clues, rash pattern, severity, and complications are very different.
• Measles (Rubeola) → high fever, cough–coryza–conjunctivitis, Koplik spots, rash starts on face and spreads downward.
• Rubella (German measles) → mild fever, post-auricular lymphadenopathy, fine maculopapular rash, important due to congenital rubella syndrome in pregnancy.
• Chickenpox (Varicella) → itchy vesicular rash in different stages at the same time, trunk-predominant distribution.

Understanding these differences is high-yield for exams, pediatrics postings, and real-world diagnosis—and vaccination plays a key role in prevention.

Surgical stitches aren’t just knots — they decide healing, strength, and cosmetic outcome 🪡🏥

Each suturing technique has a specific indication based on wound depth, tension, tissue type, and location.

• Simple interrupted – most commonly used, excellent wound edge control
• Simple continuous (running) – faster closure, even tension for long wounds
• Vertical mattress – deep wounds, high-tension areas, good edge eversion
• Horizontal mattress – fragile skin, distributes tension, prevents edge necrosis
• Subcuticular (intradermal) – cosmetic closure, no stitch marks (face, plastic surgery)
• Purse-string – circular wounds, drains, stoma sites
• Figure of eight – rapid hemostasis, bleeding control

📌 Exam + OT tip:
Choose stitch based on tension + depth + cosmetic need, not habit.

A small technique change can make a big difference in healing.
