SVH takes immense pride in sharing another success story about a woman named Trishna! She was born into an impoverished family and made what seemed like the worst choice in her teenage years: she dropped out of school, got married, and had a baby at an early age. When her daughter was only 5 years old, her husband left them for good. Overall, in her early 20s, life seemed to be nearly over. However, the story doesn’t end there.
Trishna personally believes that she unknowingly made the right decision. In her words, "Because of my early marriage, I was accepted into a highly educated and progressive family. They always tell me to use my full potential and go beyond limits." Using her utmost ability in the state she was in, made her journey extremely hard, but definitely inspiring!
With many challenges, she raised her daughter while growing up herself. Trishna could not have done this without the support of her family! In her mid-30s, she went back to school and finished her 10th (Madhyamik) grade board exam when her daughter was just in 8th grade. She used to work during the day and study at night when the world around her was sleeping. After her Madhyamik, she took training and certificate courses in physiotherapy and yoga. (She currently runs her own Yoga Center, Sreena Yoga Centre , online or in-person.) Her journey of becoming 'Swayangsiddha' started then! But there’s still more to the story:)
Years passed, and her family wanted her to get married again. Her mother, mother-in-law, soon-to-be mother-in-law, and her daughter got her married again. The turning point in her life began now: A couple of years ago, towards her mid-40s, she returned to school and recently graduated from high school with 1st division!!! She is now enrolled in college to get a bachelor’s degree. She proved not just one but many of the following:
• Age is just a number
• There is no alternative of hard work, sincerity, and discipline
• Nothing can stop you to thrive if you have the will to achieve it
• Education is the fundamental base to grow
• 'Swayangsiddha' is not a destination, it is a journey throughout the life
Nonetheless, we as a family and community are so PROUD of you! We want you to flourish as you continue your college education and your career as a physiotherapist and yoga teacher. Keep up the good work, love! 💕
