Benefits of Carrots:
Red carrots derive their color from the beta carotene, the naturally occurring group of pigments that determines the color of many fruit and vegetables. Red Carrots contain more lycopene than other varieties, and have a pinkish red to purplish red outside layer with a core of pink to orange.
1. Red carrots contain the pigment known as lycopene which has been associated with a lowered risk of prostate cancer in men and heart disease.
2. Carrots are rich in carotenoids. Research suggests that fruits and vegetables rich in these compounds can improve skin appearance and also help people look relatively younger.
3. The soluble fiber in carrots has been shown to help regulate blood sugar and insulin levels, and support digestive health.
4. As per studies, carrot consumption can reduce cholesterol absorption and increase the antioxidant status of your body.
5. Carrots are full of important nutrients, like vitamin A and beta-carotene, we can see their importance in an anti-inflammatory diet. Both of these nutrients help fight inflammation, along with fiber and an antioxidant called luteolin. Fiber helps prevent chronic disease, keeps you regular and boosts your gut health.
