Breast Cancer Awarness Month celebration.
Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bathinda.
With the blessings of honourable Chancellor, Adesh University, Dr. H.S. Gill, and under the able guidance of Medical Superintendent (Admin) Dr. Gurpreet Singh Gill, the Department of Radiodiagnosis, AIMSR celebrated the Breast Cancer Awareness month in collaboration with Youth Together- a non-profit organization aimed towards spreading awareness regarding breast cancer.
Vice Chancellor Col. Jagdev Singh (Retd.) also motivated us for the cause on this occasion.
The Department of Radiodiagnosis conducted a one month long free mammography screening camp in which more than 160 patients were screened and at its culmination an awareness event was conducted in Adesh Hospital on 31st October 2025.

Every October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to spreading awareness regarding breast cancer detection and treatment.
The theme for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025 was "Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters." This theme emphasized that each person's experience with breast cancer is different, in terms of biology, personal resilience, circumstances, and challenges, and underscored the need for compassion, dignity, and patient-centered care for all, regardless of geography, income, or background.
The event was graced by the distinguished presence of various faculty members:
Dr. Varun Malhotra (Registrar, Adesh University)
Dr. Parmod Kumar Goyal (Principal, AIMSR)
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar (Medical Superintendent Adesh Hospital)
Dr. Harijot Singh Bhattal (Deputy Medical Superintendent, AIMSR)
Dr. Sandeep Kaur (Dean Academics, AIMSR Bathinda)
And Heads of various departments.
Dr. Manjot Kaur (Professor & Head, Dept of Radiodiagnosis, AIMSR) initiated the event by advocating regular breast screening to detect breast cancer early and that awareness, early detection and hence timely treatment can save early deaths.
Short educational presentations were given by the faculty members (Dr. Vinita Jindal, Dr. Reemanshu Bansal, Dr. Pushpinder Singh, Dr. Sachin Khandelwal) and residents (Dr. Ayushi, Dr. Harpavit, Dr. Harlin, Dr. Rupali) to bring light to the topic of breast cancer awareness.
A short educational video made by the residents of Department of Radiodiagnosis was also played to bust some of the common myths regarding mammography and breast cancer.
Lastly, Dr. Manjot concluded the event by giving heartfelt vote of thanks to all assembled.
