Radha Soami Satsang Beas together with its international affiliates (RSSB) is a philosophical organization based on the spiritual teachings of all religions and dedicated to a process of inner development under the guidance of a spiritual teacher. In the Indian language, Radha Soami means ‘lord of the soul’, satsang describes a group that seeks truth, and Beas refers to the town near which the main centre is located in northern India. There are a number of other contemporary movements that use the name ‘Radha Soami’ but Radha Soami Satsang Beas is not associated with any of them. Today RSSB holds meetings in more than 90 countries worldwide. It is a non-profit organization with no affiliation to any political or commercial organizations. The basis of every religion is spirituality. With the passage of time and changing social values, the basic spiritual teachings become embellished with extra rules and considerations, and eventually take the shape of a religion. RSSB is trying to maintain the core of spirituality without allowing it to take on a formal structure. The philosophy teaches a personal path of spiritual development which includes a vegetarian diet, abstinence from intoxicants, a moral way of life and the practice of daily meditation. There are no rituals, ceremonies, hierarchies or mandatory contributions, nor are there compulsory gatherings. Members need not give up their cultural identity or religious preference to follow this pat

*आज के दिन 2 अप्रैल 1948 को महाराज सावन सिंह जी 45 साल संगत की सेवा, सत्संग और नाम का प्रचार करने के बाद 90 साल की उम्र भोग कर ज्योति जोत समा गए थे।*

*हुज़ूर वड़े महाराज जी ने अपना पूरा जीवन परमार्थ को समर्पित कर दिया, लेकिन साथ ही उन्होंने निजी कार्य भी ज़ारी रखे और अपनी आजीविका भी अर्जित की। हुज़ूर 24-25 वर्ष की उम्र में इंजीनियर के रूप में सेना में भर्ती हो गये। 28 वर्ष की आयु में, एस. डी. ओ. बने और 27 वर्षों तक सेना में नौकरी करने के बाद 53 वर्ष की आयु में सेवानिवृत्त हुए। 1894 में, जब वे 36 वर्ष के थे, उनकी मुलाकात बाबा जी महाराज से हुई और उन्हें उनसे नाम मिला। नौ वर्ष बाद, 45 वर्ष की आयु में, बाबा जी ने उन्हें अपना उत्तराधिकारी बनाया, गुरु गद्दी सौंपी और सत्संग, नाम-दान और आत्माओं के उद्धार का कार्य सौंपा। हुज़ूर ने अंत तक इस ज़िम्मेदारी को पूरी लगन और प्रेम से निभाया। 1911 में, 53 वर्ष की आयु में, वह अपनी नौकरी से सेवानिवृत्त हो गये और स्थायी रूप से डेरे में आ गए जहां वे 37 वर्षों तक रहे। हुज़ूर ने 45 वर्ष सत्संग और नाम प्रचार की सेवा निभाई और 1,25,375 जीवों को नाम दान की बख़्शिश की। अंत आप 2 अप्रैल 1948 को 90 वर्ष की आयु में आप ज्योति जोत समा गए।*
