75-year-old grandmother beats 5-level spine surgery risk and starts sitting within days 💪

Here was a 75-year-old lady, suffering from severe back pain, spine instability and weakness in both legs, unable to walk or do her basic daily activities. Her condition demanded major spine surgery, but there was a big challenge – she had severe cardiac dysfunction with very low ejection fraction, making anesthesia and surgery extremely high risk for her life.

Despite the danger, she and her family chose to fight back instead of giving up. With detailed planning and high-risk consent, we performed a complex 5-level spine surgery with 10 screws in a single sitting – something usually avoided at this age, especially in a patient with heart failure.
