Meet 3-year-old smiling Riyanshi 💛
She came to me with decay in her two primary first molars. At this tender age, even sitting on a dental chair feels like a big adventure! Young kids often have very little patience — but Riyanshi surprised me. From opening her tiny mouth for cleaning to sitting calmly for the final restoration, she cooperated beautifully once everything was gently explained to her.❤️
But as a dentist, one thought keeps troubling me…😔
Why are 2–3 year olds already walking into clinics with cavities?
Early childhood decay is becoming so common. And this is not just about teeth — it reflects diet, frequent sugary snacks, bottle habits, processed foods, and overall lifestyle patterns. At this age, teeth should be strong foundations for life. If they become brittle and carious so early, how will they cope in the long run?
Parents, this is our wake-up call.👶
Simple discipline in diet, supervised brushing, regular check-ups, and mindful habits can prevent so much trauma later.
Oral health is not separate from overall health — it is the beginning of it.
Let’s protect those tiny smiles before they turn into painful memories. 💫

Longevity Over Esthetics in Dental Restorations🦷🦷
As dentists, we generally prefer composite resin for permanent fillings due to its strength and natural esthetic appearance. However, there are situations where composite may not be the ideal choice or has a higher risk of debonding.
Cases where composite may be less predictable include:
1)Areas where achieving 100% moisture control is difficult
2)When intentional caries is left to avoid root canal treatment
3)Deep cavity margins where sensitivity is a concern
In such scenarios, I prefer using high-strength posterior GIC Type 9. While it may not provide the same esthetic outcome as composite, it ensures good healing, minimal discomfort, and long-term durability for the patient.
Ultimately, prioritizing functionality and longevity over esthetics helps achieve the best clinical outcomes.

Meet Parth, 3 years old — my smallest challenge 😄
He visited my clinic 5 times in 6 months for two tiny molars.
At this age, mouth open time = 5 seconds max… blink and it’s gone!
So we went slow and gentle:
Little cleaning each visit
Temporary cement on and off
Zero force, only patience
Final visit?
Mouth open for 2 whole minutes, permanent filling done — and guess what?
Hello turned into a bindhast singer 🎤on dental chair😊
Moments like these make me smile ❤️
When kids leave the clinic thinking
“I met a friend”
and not
“I survived a scary dentist” 😄🦷

World Cancer Day – 4th February🦀🦂

Oral cancer is common in India, mainly because to***co is still more popular than it should be.
Doctors and healthcare workers keep saying “Quit to***co” — and yes, we’ll keep saying it 😉

But here’s something everyone can do:
👉 Look inside your own mouth once in a while.

If you see an ulcer that refuses to leave, a patch that looks suspicious, or anything that makes you go “Hmm… this wasn’t there before” — don’t Google it endlessly.

Show it to a dentist or doctor.
Early checking saves time, money… and sometimes life.

Your mouth talks. Make sure you listen. 😁

"Full mouth rehabilitation cases" are always challenging. They need a lot of trust from the patient, patience for multiple visits, and most importantly, a positive mindset.

Mrs. Annapurna Patil came to our clinic from Butramatti village in Belagavi district. When she first visited, her body weight was only 40 kg. She had very poor oral hygiene and found it difficult to eat properly.

Her treatment included 10 tooth extractions and 4 fillings. We tried our best to save her front teeth so that her confidence and smile were maintained. Later, we provided upper and lower removable dentures, which were the most affordable and suitable option for her.

By the end of the treatment, her smile, comfort, and confidence had changed completely. Seeing this transformation gives us immense joy and satisfaction and reminds us why we love what we do. 😊

“Empowering my patients through the real-life experiences of other patients is my favorite way to spread oral care awareness.😊"
These shared journeys don’t just educate—they spark self-care and responsibility.
Meet our very positive patient, Mrs. Bharati Hosur, who has remained mindful of her oral and overall health at every stage of life. Her commitment to self-care keeps her fit, confident, and free to travel the world today with minimal health concerns. Her story is a true reminder that awareness and care go hand in hand.”

A curved canine measuring 29 mm—the longest and strongest tooth in the mouth—had to be extracted due to poor periodontal support. This case is a reminder that strength alone does not ensure survival. Even the most robust teeth depend on healthy gums and bone. When periodontal health is compromised, no tooth—no matter how strong—can be saved.
Healthy gingiva is the true foundation of a lasting smile.

🛑 Longest Canine of 29 mm extracted in our Healthy Smile Dental Clinic by Dr. Snehal Sukhatankar.

“Sharing your medical history with your dentist is an important step before any dental treatment. Health conditions, ongoing medications, or past surgeries can affect how your body responds to dental procedures and anesthesia. Even a small detail can help prevent emergencies, reduce risks, and ensure safe, effective treatment. Being honest helps your dentist care for you better.”
