Why Scaling is the First Step in Full Mouth Cases???

1) Clear diagnosis
Removes deposits and stains, giving a proper view to assess caries, fractures, and existing restorations.

2) Improves gum health
Reduces inflammation and bleeding, creating a healthy foundation for all further treatments.

3) Better treatment planning & cost estimation
A clearer clinical picture helps in accurate planning and informing patients about expected costs in advance.

4)Relieves common complaints
Helps reduce bad breath and gum bleeding, improving patient comfort early.

5) Reduces infection risk
Lowers bacterial load, promoting better healing and treatment outcomes.

6) Accurate prognosis
Helps evaluate mobility and periodontal condition to decide tooth survival.

⭕In short: Scaling is not just a cleaning procedure—it is the foundation step that ensures accurate diagnosis, better planning, and long-term success of full mouth rehabilitation.

“Kids and chocolate are inseparable 🍫✨
So rather than saying NO, let’s say ‘right time, right amount’ 😊
A little chocolate before meals can be better—
so the sticky sweetness gets naturally cleaned with a balanced, fibrous diet 🥗
Making every chocolate treat… not just magical, but healthier too 💫”

“Younger siblings always follow the elder one 💕
Meet brave 7-year-old Rayne Desouza, who visited last year for a few fillings — her super-bold attitude proved that dental treatments aren’t scary at all 💪🦷
Inspired by her, little sister Amelia (5) walked in this time for her routine check-up and cleaning… smiling through the entire treatment 😁✨
Now both sisters are firmly committed to their 6-month dental visits — proving that courage, confidence, and healthy habits can start very young 🌟🪥”

At 70, Mr. Kulkarni amazed me with his curiosity and enthusiasm. He had old crowns and gaps between his molars, and had even explored the internet to learn about dental implants. Despite mixed opinions from friends, he came with genuine questions and an open mind.

After a thorough check-up, I explained that implants, though advanced, were not ideal for his specific medical condition. Together, we chose well-planned traditional crowns to close the gaps and restore comfort.

Today, he is happily enjoying his favourite foods again — confidently, comfortably, and without fear of repeated dental visits. 👏
His positive attitude truly proves that staying young at heart makes all the difference 💛

Meet 8-year-old Aashrita — lovingly called Aashu 💖
An upcoming artist who has already acted in a movie 🎬 and a super brave little girl who faced her injection with a fearless smile 💪😊

In a city like Belgaum, where even 2–3 km can feel far, Aashu travels almost 8–9 km from the opposite end just to visit my clinic 🛵✨

Not only did she complete all her dental treatments happily, but she also melted my heart by bringing a handmade greeting card just for me 🎁💐

When children start enjoying dental visits, it becomes the most rewarding feeling for a dentist 🦷❤️

Ceramic vs Zirconia Crowns – What’s the difference? 🦷

Traditional ceramic crowns often require more tooth cutting and many have a metal core, which may show as a dark margin over time and can sometimes lead to gum recession due to lower compatibility with gum tissues.

Zirconia crowns, on the other hand, are metal-free, stronger, and more biocompatible. They usually require less tooth reduction and are gentler on the gums, giving a more natural and long-lasting result.

While cost can sometimes be a consideration, when possible, choosing Zirconia crowns can be a better investment for both strength and aesthetics. ✨

Meet Parishrut! ⚽🍫🧀

A proud chocolate and cheese lover — so a few decayed teeth were almost unavoidable. But the good news? We’ve restored all his affected teeth, and Parishrut made a smart choice by opting for fluoride treatment as preventive care 🦷✨

This helps protect his teeth from future decay… so he can still enjoy his favourite treats (in moderation, of course!) 🍫😁

And being a football player, he now understands how important it is to take care of not just his game, but also his oral and overall health ⚽💪

That’s the magical shift that happens when kids learn the right habits early — informed choices today, healthier smiles tomorrow! 🌟🦷

“Extra teeth, extra care!” 🦷

Sometimes the mouth surprises us with an extra set of helpers.
This case shows bilateral extra teeth in the lower jaw, a rare condition called Hyperdontia.

While most people have 32 teeth, occasionally nature adds a little extra. In this case, bilateral mandibular supernumerary premolars (paramolars) are present — a rare finding that can sometimes erupt even after adulthood.

Though these extra teeth may look small, they can lead to crowding, food lodgement, and cavities if not monitored carefully.

✨ A reminder that every smile is unique — and sometimes, a little extra care makes all the difference. 🦷

Meet 3-year-old smiling Riyanshi 💛
She came to me with decay in her two primary first molars. At this tender age, even sitting on a dental chair feels like a big adventure! Young kids often have very little patience — but Riyanshi surprised me. From opening her tiny mouth for cleaning to sitting calmly for the final restoration, she cooperated beautifully once everything was gently explained to her.❤️
But as a dentist, one thought keeps troubling me…😔
Why are 2–3 year olds already walking into clinics with cavities?
Early childhood decay is becoming so common. And this is not just about teeth — it reflects diet, frequent sugary snacks, bottle habits, processed foods, and overall lifestyle patterns. At this age, teeth should be strong foundations for life. If they become brittle and carious so early, how will they cope in the long run?
Parents, this is our wake-up call.👶
Simple discipline in diet, supervised brushing, regular check-ups, and mindful habits can prevent so much trauma later.
Oral health is not separate from overall health — it is the beginning of it.
Let’s protect those tiny smiles before they turn into painful memories. 💫
