Tetany !! Too low calcium in blood can cause muscle twitching and numbness and involuntary movemnet of arms and legs… it can also cause arrhythmia and seizures …. Patient need to be treated on urgent basis… cause are include hypomagnesemia, hyperparathyroidism , kidney disease, vitamin d deficiency , acute pancreatitis….

Supply patient with calcium gluconate 100-200 mg per kg in straight dose over 5-10 minutes and repeat if symptoms does not resolve .. and treat underlying cause !!!
