As part of the World Oral Health Day celebrations -
slogan writing, and elocution competitions were also organized for the dental students of Vishnu Dental College. These events aimed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and awareness about the importance of oral health among future dental professionals. Students enthusiastically participated, showcasing their knowledge and passion for promoting oral hygiene and community dental care.

The competitions provided a platform for students to express impactful ideas and messages that emphasized the significance of maintaining good oral hygiene and spreading oral health awareness in society. As part of the World Oral Health Day celebrations, an oral health screening camp was organized at Bhimavaram Old Age Home, in alignment with this year’s theme, “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind.” The camp, led by Dr. K. Sri Chaitanya Ram (Public Health Dentist) aimed to raise awareness among elderly residents about the importance of oral hygiene and identify those in need of prosthodontic care, particularly denture rehabilitation. A dedicated team of postgraduates from the Department of Prosthodontics and house surgeons conducted comprehensive oral examinations, focusing on age-related conditions such as tooth loss, periodontal issues, and oral mucosal lesions. Individuals requiring prosthetic treatment were shortlisted for an upcoming denture fabrication drive. The camp was overseen by Dr. P. Ravigna, Professor and Head of the Department of Pedodontics. An oral health screening and treatment camp was organized at Mandal Parishad Primary School, Gollalakoderu Village, Palakoderu Mandal, West Godavari District, aimed at promoting preventive oral care among schoolchildren. The camp was overseen by Dr. G. L. Surekha (Pedodontist) and began with thorough oral examinations to detect existing or potential dental issues. Following the screenings, the Mobile Dental Unit provided treatments including oral prophylaxis, pit and fissure sealant application to safeguard vulnerable tooth surfaces, fluoride varnish to reinforce enamel and prevent decay, as well as restorative care for dental caries. This initiative not only addressed immediate dental concerns but also highlighted the significance of early preventive measures for long-term oral health.
