Everyone must heard of Assam black tea but did you know this small state of India have almost 30% of world asian elephant population.
On this International Elephant Day, we would like to focus on the role of tea plantations and elephant habitat.Almost 80% of wild elephant habitat and corridors go through or touch tea plantations. In addition, there are deep trenches, which worsen the situation; these trenches are a major reason for hundreds of elephants being orphaned. We are not even discussing how many die in conflict and train accidents.
Help us protect their habitats, one sip at a time.
No cup of tea is worth separating an elephant calf from their family.
