On (24th March), Metropolis Labs organised a community walkathon in Mumbai in collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) – Mumbai City and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), with support from its NGO partner, Lok Sewa Sangam, under the Metropolis Preventive Healthcare CSR Program.

The initiative brought together employees, healthcare professionals, and community representatives to drive awareness on early detection, treatment adherence, nutrition support, and stigma reduction—key pillars in India’s TB elimination efforts.

The event was graced by Dr. Kirti Chadha (Chief Scientific and Innovation Officer), Dr. Safala Shroff (Advisor, Metropolis CSR), and Jeyasingh Balakrishnan (Head – Corporate Communications), along with senior public health professionals from BMC, including Dr. Ajay Dhawale (District TB Officer, L Ward) and Dr. Suresh Uchale (Assistant Health Officer – TB).

A key highlight of the event was the recognition of 25+ peer educators for their continued grassroots efforts in strengthening community awareness, breaking stigma, and supporting patients through their recovery journeys.

As a Ni-kshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Metropolis continues to support TB patients through its CSR initiatives, with strong outcomes including 100% medication adherence and improved health indicators.

Through collaboration and a focus on holistic care, Metropolis Healthcare remains committed to supporting India’s vision of a TB-Mukt Bharat.

Kudos to our CSR team—Shalini Sahay, Sagar, and Shivanand—for making this initiative a success.

Fatigue in adolescent girls is often dismissed as stress or routine exhaustion, but persistent tiredness can be an early signal of underlying health issues.

In an interaction with moneycontrol.com, Dr Moumita Misra, Head of Lab Operations (Mumbai) at Metropolis Healthcare Limited, shares that factors such as iron and vitamin deficiencies, blood sugar imbalance, thyroid dysfunction, and poor sleep habits can all contribute to ongoing fatigue in teens.

This reinforces why early awareness and timely diagnostics matter—an approach that also aligns with Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) by Metropolis, our CSR initiative dedicated to building health awareness and informed choices among adolescent girls.

National Girl Child Day: Chronic fatigue is a frequently reported and neglected symptom among adolescent girls. Although it is often associated with lifestyle or academic stress, persistent fatigue may be a sign of underlying metabolic and biological disturbances.
