TW: Impetigo is a common contagious bacterial skin infection, often seen in children but can affect adults as well. It usually appears as red sores, blisters, or honey-colored crusts on the skin, especially around the nose, mouth, and hands.

🦠 The good news? With timely diagnosis and proper treatment – including topical or oral antibiotics and good skin hygiene – impetigo heals well, as you can see in this transformation.

TW: A keratoacanthoma is a rapidly growing skin lesion that often mimics squamous cell carcinoma and requires timely surgical excision. 🩺

This patient presented with a large keratoacanthoma on the forearm, a region prone to movement and torsion. Here we show pre and post-op pictures taken a year apart. Post-surgical healing was particularly challenging due to:
🔹 The torsional forces of the forearm affecting wound edges
🔹 The size and depth of excision needed for clear margins

With careful surgical planning and meticulous closure, we achieved healing by primary intention despite the anatomical challenges. 💪
While keratoacanthomas often have a favorable outcome after complete excision, regular follow-ups are crucial to monitor for recurrence or any signs of malignancy.
