Visvamitra International hosts International Yoga Day Celebration in Siracusa
Bhubaneswar/ Italy: The serene and iconic setting of Largo Aretusa became the backdrop for a spirited celebration of International Yoga Day 2025, as Visvamitra International Onlus, with support from the Embassy, hosted a well-attended public yoga session.
The event brought together dignitaries and yoga enthusiasts alike, including the Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Amararam Gujar, and the Mayor of Siracusa, Mr. Francesco Italia. Their presence underscored the deepening cultural ties and shared values of wellness and mindfulness between communities.
Adding spiritual gravitas to the occasion was the renowned Maestro Swami Ananda Saraswati, who journeyed from the Himalayas to lead the session. His presence was a highlight for many attendees, lending authenticity and depth to the event’s celebration of ancient yogic traditions.
Gratitude was extended to Vishvamitra Yoga Vidya – Visvamitra International Onlus and the Vishvamitra Foundation, whose commitment made the gathering possible. Appreciation also went to the generous sponsors — ADEMPI, Sicily MIA, Shri Vidya, and Poggio Monte — and to the many volunteers whose efforts helped make the event a success.
In the heart of a city rich with history, the event stood as a reminder of yoga’s enduring power to bring people together in the spirit of harmony, health, and shared humanity.
