What Happens in Vocal cord Dysfunction?
The vocal cords' abnormal closure obstructs airflow, leading to symptoms like:
Shortness of breath (dyspnea)
Wheezing
Stridor (a harsh, vibrating noise when breathing)
Coughing
Chest or throat tightness
Sensation of choking .
Most common is teachers, Singers, those who abuse voice for long Duration . And in smokers and alocholics .
Vocal cord may have ulcer, Nodule ,polyp ,Growth or keratosis .
Diagnosis by Video laryngoscopy and Stroboscopy .
And Treatment is voice Rest ,Speech Therapy, Vocal Hyegine ,plenty Of Hydration and avoidance of Tea coffee Alcohol and Cessation smoking habits.
