Dear Sir/ Madam,

I have gone through the UGC Regulations 2018 regarding details about eligibility in direct recruitment of Assistant Professor in the Universities written in 4.1 (A) page 62. It is not clearly mentioned that whether M.Sc. Biotechnology subject is a concerned/ relevant/ allied subject of Life Science, Plant Science (Botany), Animal Science (Zoology), Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Microbiology etc or not. This creating big issue in short listing of MSc passed out Biotechnology students for the department of Botany, Zoology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology it's due to lack of subject eligibility. As per no. of evidences of previous Assistant professor recruitment, Biotechnology was not considered as relevant subject of above-mentioned subjects which lead to creation of severe unemployment problem for M.Sc. Biotechnology passed out students and creation of legal issues. In contrast, all the above streams students are getting opportunity in the recruitment as Assistant professor in the department of Biotechnology which is injustice.
As a stack holder, I sincerely request you to clarify and bring it written form in the UGC Regulations 2018 whether Biotechnology is a concerned/ relevant/ allied subject of above-mentioned subjects or not. This will help M.Sc. Biotechnology passed out students to apply and face the interview for direct Assistant Professor position in the Universities.
