In a significant demonstration of social responsibility and medical awareness, the Koustuv Research Institute of Medical Studies (KRIMS) organised a blood donation camp on October 17, 2023, at Koustuv Technical Campus. The blood donation camp, which marked the commencement of Pharmafest 2023, unfolded under the distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. Srikanta Kanungo, Scientist at RMRC, Bhubaneswar. The inauguration was accompanied by a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of Shri Koustuv Mallick, Executive Director of KGI, alongside the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty, and dedicated volunteers. In his address, the Chief Guest informed us that our aim should be not just to collect blood but also to instill in our students and the community a sense of responsibility towards healthcare and medical awareness. The Executive Director of KGI said we believe that such events help build a more informed and compassionate society. During the event, trained medical professionals from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, ensured the safety and well-being of the donors throughout the donation process.

This event spans three days and will include a Blood Donation Camp as well as a variety of engaging activities and cultural events.

The Times of India and Jyoti Motors organised a programme on “Selfie with EV” in association with Ather at Koustuv Technical Campus on October 12, 2023. This event was designed to inspire and engage students by providing them with the opportunity to explore and experience electric vehicles. Students were encouraged to take test drives with electric vehicles and share selfies to create awareness and interest in the world of electric mobility.

A HEARTFELT CONDOLENCE FROM THE KGI FAMILY

The Koustuvian community comes together to offer their heartfelt condolences for the loss of two legendary personalities, SJ. GHANASHYAM JENA and SMT. HEMELATA JENA. All the faculty members, staff, students, GM Administration, and principals from the College of Engineering Bhubaneswar (COEB), Koustuv Research Institute of Medical Science (KRIMS), Koustuv Business School (KBS), Naxatra Institute of Media Studies (NIMS), Koustuv Institute of Professional Studies (KIPS), and Koustuv Institute of Science (KIS) attended the condolence meeting with a deep sense of pain and a wish: May the departed souls find eternal peace in the embrace of the Lord Almighty.
It is worthwile to mention hear that Sri Ghanashyam Jena is a remarkable and influential figure in the field of trade unionism and workers' rights in India. His contributions as a leader, visionary, and pioneer in the realm of trade union movements have left an indelible mark on the human resources industry and the national labor scene.

In addition to his notable role in trade unions, Sri Jena, with rock-solid support from his better half, Hemelata Jena, has made significant contributions to society through initiatives such as the "FCI Workers Co-operative Society," the "Ghanashyam Hemalata Vidya Mandir Society," and the "Ghanashyam Hemalata Institute of Technology & Management," among others. These initiatives have focused on educational programmes aimed at nurturing and developing talents among the workforce, thereby empowering individuals to improve their lives and communities.
