ଆଜି ପବିତ୍ର ମକର ସଂକ୍ରାନ୍ତି । ମକର ସଂକ୍ରାନ୍ତି ପାଇଁ ପୁରୀ ଶ୍ରୀମନ୍ଦିରରେ ଶ୍ରୀଜିଉଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ନୀତିକାନ୍ତ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠିତ ହୁଏ। ଏହି ଦିନରେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଧନୁ ରାଶିରୁ ମକର ରାଶିକୁ ଚଳନ କରନ୍ତି । ଆଜି ଠାରୁ ଦିନ ବଡ଼ ହେବା ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୁଏ । ସେହିପରି ଆଜି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ ଉତ୍ତରାୟଣଗତି ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୁଏ । ଆଜିର ପବିତ୍ର ଦିନରେ ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧାଳୁ ମାନେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟୋଦୟ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ସ୍ନାନ କରିଥାନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଥମ ପୂଜାର୍ଚ୍ଚନା ମଧ୍ୟ କରିଥାନ୍ତି ।ଆଜି ମକର ଚୌରାଶୀ ବେଶରେ ଦର୍ଶନ ଦେଉଛନ୍ତି ଶ୍ରୀଜିଉ । ଶ୍ରୀଜିଉଙ୍କ ମଙ୍ଗଳ ଆଳତି ଓ ଅବକାଶ ନୀତି ବଢ଼ିବା ପରେ ପଟା ପହରଣ ଲାଗି କରାଯିବ ।

ଆଜି ମକର ଚୌରାଅଶି ବେଶରେ ଦର୍ଶନ ଦେବେ ଶ୍ରୀଜିଉ । ଅଧିବାସରେ ରଖାଯାଇଥିବା ଭୋଗକୁ ଭୋଗ ମଣ୍ତପରୁ ନେଇ ବେଢା ପରିକ୍ରମା କରାଯିବ । ଏହା ପରେ ମହାଭୋଇ ମାନେ ରୋଷଶାଳରୁ ଦହି ଆଣିବେ ସେହିପରି ଗୁଡିଆମାନେ ଫେଣା, ଶାକର, ଆଣି ମକର ଭୋଗ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରିବେ । ଏହାପରେ ମହାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଶ୍ରୀଚରଣରେ ନଳୀ ପାନ ଅର୍ପଣ କରାଯିବାର ବିଧି।
'ମକରଠାରୁ ଦିନ ବକର ହୁଏ', ଅର୍ଥାତ ଏହି ଦିନଠାରୁ ଦିନ କ୍ରମଶଃ ବଡ଼ ହୁଏ । ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କର ତେଜ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହି ଦିନଠାରୁ ପ୍ରଖର ହୁଏ । ମକର ସଂକ୍ରାନ୍ତି ଠାରୁ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କର ଉତ୍ତରାୟଣ ଗତି ହେଉଥିବାରୁ ଆଲୋକ ଏବଂ ଜୀବନର ଉତ୍ସ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କୁ ହିନ୍ଦୁମାନେ ଏହିଦିନ ପୂଜାର୍ଚ୍ଚନା କରନ୍ତି ।

Happy 77th independence day to all. The Indian flag symbolises freedom and independence and represents the diversity the country holds. It symbolizes patriotism, freedom and honour of the country. The Indian flag is a horizontal tricolour of Saffron (Kesariya) at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom, all in equal proportion.

It also consists of the national emblem of the country, Ashok Chakra, in the centre of the white band.The saffron colour of the national flag represents the strength and courage of the country. The white in the middle is a symbol of peace while the green colour symbolizes fertility, prosperity and auspiciousness of the land.The 'Ashok Chakra' signifies that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.
