A 14-year-old girl with type 1 diabetes suffered life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis, with dangerously high blood sugar, low blood pressure in shock stage, and altered mental state. Dr. Sahoo's team administered insulin and breathing support with ventilator, then dialysis for failing kidneys. Gradually, her condition improved. They adjusted her insulin, switched to injections, and she regained consciousness. Though kidney function remained a concern, her blood sugar stabilised and continues to recover.
