Let us share about ECMO (used in COVID treatment) Which costs around 50 to 75 lakhs approximately & complete trained team of Nurses , perfusionist & Physician required with Disposables & consumables for each patient .

ECMO is advanced respiratory support used in Covid advance treatment nowadays .
In simple language it is like an artificial lung 🫁 used in respiratory failure , which does oxygenation of deoxygenated Veinous blood and sends back to arterial blood .

And it gives time diseased lungs to heal .

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), also known as extracorporeal life support (ECLS), is an extracorporeal technique of providing prolonged cardiac and respiratory support to persons whose heart and lungs are unable to provide an adequate amount of gas exchange or perfusion to sustain life.
