Chronic stress can reduce your body’s ability to fight infections and slow down recovery. When stress levels remain high for long periods, it affects immune response, increases inflammation, and may make you more vulnerable to illnesses.

Managing stress through regular exercise, adequate sleep, relaxation techniques, and healthy social connections can help strengthen your immunity and overall well-being.

Take care of your mind—your body will thank you.

Our Department of Community Medicine observed World Leprosy Day, under the theme “Ending Discrimination, Ensuring Dignity.” Through rallies, health education sessions, and community outreach activities, we focused on early detection, free treatment under NLEP, and stigma elimination.

At RHTC, we conducted interactive sessions for school students, organised a health camp with skin screening of 50–60 patients, and felicitated dedicated ASHA workers. A treated patient also shared his recovery journey, inspiring confidence in timely treatment.

At UHTC, faculty and interns engaged the community through awareness talks and a rally, promoting early reporting and reinforcing that leprosy is completely curable.

Through these initiatives, we strengthened community awareness and reaffirmed our commitment to inclusive, preventive public health services and leprosy elimination.

Mega Health Camp organised by KIMS at Kalikapur in Rajkanika to provide quality healthcare services to people in the area.

Doctors from 25 departments examined and treated patients with care and dedication. Many families who cannot easily travel to super-speciality hospitals received medical attention near their homes.

This reflects our commitment to reach the most rural and underserved communities. At KIMS, we believe healthcare must go to those who need it the most, and we will continue to serve with sincerity and compassion.

We successfully hosted the 17th IRACON Odisha 2026 on 21st and 22nd February at the KIMS Auditorium, Campus 5, Bhubaneswar. Organised by our Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology in collaboration with the Odisha Branch of the Indian Rheumatology Association, the conference was centred on the theme “Decoding Rheumatic Diseases: Education, Evidence and Emerging Technologies.”

Over two days, we brought together eminent rheumatologists, specialists, and researchers from across the country to discuss modern clinical research, emerging therapies, and the integration of advanced technologies in patient care. The programme featured oral presentations, panel discussions, a presidential oration, interactive debates, and quiz competitions, fostering academic excellence and collaborative learning.

Through IRACON Odisha 2026, we reaffirmed our commitment to advancing rheumatology by blending strong clinical foundations with innovative technological progress.

Our Department of Community Health Nursing, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), organised an awareness programme under the National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) at Niladri Vihar, Bhubaneswar, as part of the Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign 2026.

The programme was conducted by our postgraduate and B.Sc. Nursing 7th semester students in collaboration with the Health Department, District Leprosy Office, NHM, TNAI, SNA, and BNLW. Through a rally and role play, we highlighted the early signs and symptoms of leprosy, the availability of free Multi-Drug Therapy (MDT), and the importance of timely treatment and adherence. The theme, “Leprosy is curable; the real challenge is stigma,” was strongly emphasised.

With the participation of around 150 community members, along with ASHA and Anganwadi workers, the programme successfully promoted awareness, reduced stigma, and provided valuable community-based learning experience for our nursing students.

A good laugh does more than lift your mood—it can positively impact your health. Laughter helps reduce stress hormones, improves circulation, and may strengthen your immune response.

When you laugh, your body releases feel-good chemicals that support overall well-being and relaxation. Even a few moments of genuine laughter each day can make a difference.

Smile more, stress less, and let positivity power your health.

Through this initiative, we reaffirmed our commitment to promoting digital innovation and academic excellence in healthcare.
