୫୨ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସ୍କ ଜଣେ ପୁରୁଷ ରୋଗୀ ଦୀର୍ଘ ସମୟ ଧରି ପିଠିରେ ଭୟଙ୍କର ବେଦନା (Pain) ଅନୁଭବ କରୁଥିଲେ, ଯାହା ପାଦ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଯାଉଥିଲା (Radiating pain)। ସେ ବସି ପାରୁନଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ଚାଲି ପାରୁନଥିଲେ । ସେ ଆମ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ।

ଆମେ ତାଙ୍କୁ MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) କରିବାକୁ ପରାମର୍ଶ କରିଥିଲୁ। MRI ରେ ଦେଖାଗଲା ଯେ L5 ଓ S1 ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଥିବା ସ୍ନାୟୁ (nerve) ଉପରେ ଚାପ ପଡ଼ିଥିଲା (nerve compression / squeezed nerve)।

ତାପରେ ଆମେ Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Spine Surgery (ଏକ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଦୁଇଟି ପୋର୍ଟ୍‌ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରି କରାଯାଇଥିବା ଏଣ୍ଡୋସ୍କୋପିକ୍‌ ମେଦୁଲା ସର୍ଜେରି) କରିଲୁ।

ଏହି ସର୍ଜେରିରେ ଖୋଲା ଅପରେସନ୍‌ (open surgery) ତୁଳନାରେ କଟ୍‌ (cut/incision) କମ୍‌ ଥାଏ, ସେହିପାଇଁ ବେଦନା(Pain) ମଧ୍ୟ କମ୍‌ ହୁଏ। ସେ ଅପରେସନ୍‌ (Operation) ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଦିନରୁ ହିଁ ଚାଲି ପାରୁଛନ୍ତି ଏବଂ ଶୀଘ୍ର ସୁସ୍ଥ ହୋଇ ସାଧାରଣ ଜୀବନକୁ (regular work)ଫେରି ପାରିବେ।

ପୁରୀ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ୪୨ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସର ଜଣେ ପୁରୁଷ ଦୀର୍ଘ ସମୟ ଧରି ଭୟଙ୍କର ଗଳାବେଦନା (Severe Neck Pain) ରେ ପୀଡିତ ଥିଲେ। ସେ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଔଷଧ (Medication) ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ୟ ଡାକ୍ତରଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସା କରାଇଥିଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ବେଦନାର(pain) କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାୟୀ ଆରାମ(Relief) ମିଳୁନଥିଲା।

ପରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଏମ୍‌ଆରଆଇ (MRI) କରିବାକୁ ପରାମର୍ଶ ଦିଆଯାଇଥିଲା। ଏମ୍‌ଆରଆଇ(MRI) ରେ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ହେଲା ଯେ C3-C4 ଏବଂ C5-C6 ଲେଭେଲରେ ନର୍ଭ(nerve) ଉପରେ ଚାପ (Compression) ଥିଲା। ଏହା ଏକ ମଲ୍ଟି ଲେଭେଲ ACDF Spine ସର୍ଜେରୀ (Multi level ACDF Spine Surgery) ଥିଲା।
