Men-tsee-khang,Bhubaneswar All the people from different ethnic can use Tibetan medicine. His Holiness graciously agreed and conveys the same aspiration and hope.

Traditional Tibetan medicine is embraced by many centuries as a science of healing, it has less side effect, it will cure the root cause of diseases and it is prepared from natural herbs. The conceptualization of the centre came up during the meeting the former chief minister of Orissa late Mr. J.B.Pattnaik and His Holiness the Dalai Lama while they were on their visit to the Tibetan settlement in Chandragiri. Recognizing and realizing the potential benefit the traditional Tibetan medicine (Sowa Rigpa), the chief minister expresses his deep desire and wish to setting up the centre at heart of Bhubaneswar city. The chief minister put forward a proposal of jointly setting up of a Tibetan medical centre with state assistance in regard to grant of clinic accommodation and staff residential quarter to that effect. Thus the present Tibetan medical centre came into existence in the year 1988. The center is actively working in this city for more than 28 years.
