A 54-year-old male presented with severe ureteric colic due to a 10.5mm renal calculus. The patient had a known history of diabetes, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease, including two previous heart attacks, for which he was on medication. A renowned urologist recommended DJ stenting with lithotripsy; however, the patient was unwilling to undergo the procedure.
Homeopathic treatment was initiated at Dr. Gawas's Clinic, with clear instructions for the patient to seek emergency care in case of hematuria, foul-smelling urine, urinary obstruction, or severe, unbearable pain. Remarkably, within three days of starting treatment, the patient spontaneously passed the 10.5mm renal stone and experienced complete pain relief. The treatment is now being continued to address the remaining kidney stones and prevent recurrent renal calculi formation.
Homeopathy offers significant potential in the treatment of kidney stones, regardless of size. Ureteric stones up to 6mm in diameter can typically pass with homeopathic treatment. However, larger stones (>6mm), especially in cases with elevated serum creatinine, hematuria, foul-smelling urine, or severe pain, may require surgical intervention.
