The given x-ray abdomen shows distended bowel loops,that of transverse and descending colon. The classical symptoms of intestinal obstruction are present i.e. pain, distension and constipation. The vomiting is a late feature in large intestinal obstruction. The provisional diagnosis is toxic megacolon.
