BUDGAM, DECEMBER 17: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today took a comprehensive review of various developmental projects being executed under core sectors in Budgam district.
While reviewing the developmental scenario of the district, the Div Com was informed that against an approved allocation of Rs 168.69 crore for the current fiscal about 72 percent of the total available funds were expended till date.
It was given out that under R&B sector, construction of 22 bridges undertaken under State sector will be completed by the end of current fiscal. The Div Com impressed upon the officers to start work in double-shifts so that the pending projects may be completed within stipulated time.
He also directed the PDD officials to publicize the curtailment schedule through media and ensure smooth power supply as per schedule and avoid unwarranted power cuts. He also directed the officials to ensure timely repair of faulty transformers and deal with defaulters as per the law.
The Div Com called upon Irrigation and Flood & control Department officials to expedite ongoing dredging work in the district. Similarly, the officials of PHE department were asked to complete all the pending projects under various sectors and complete the target of providing safe drinking water to all the educational institutions in a time bound manner.
The meeting also discussed issues pertaining to Integrated Child Development Services scheme. It was said that the tendering process for the procurement of nutrition items and the supply orders shall be finalized within three days.
While reviewing the functioning of Rural Development Department, the Div Com directed the concerned to expedite works on the convergence projects undertaken under various schemes. He directed the officials to focus on construction of bunds, embankments of nallahs, repair of roads and play fields and have them verified by Village Level Committees.
The Divisional Commissioner called for strengthening of Primary Health Centres, so that patient referral is reduced to a considerable extent. He also directed for effective implementation of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) and NHM programmes to augment health sector of the district.
He also took an in-depth review of works being executed under Yousmarg Development Authority and Doodhpathri Development Authority.
Later, Mr. Baseer Khan took stock of winter arrangements in the district. He directed the concerned to gear up their men and machinery for effective response to meet any exigency.
Meanwhile, the Div Com inspected the newly built Revenue Complex Budgam constructed at a cost of Rs 3.05 crore and under construction 20 mtr span steel bridge at Karpora over Nallah Karipora in the district
