Resharing my poem written last year

At the outset of World Kidney Day, it is becoming increasingly important to raise awareness of how self-destructive we are to our internal organs.
Please read through the awareness poem and revert to me or any qualified Dietitians or Health care professionals for more right and authentic informations. Enjoy the poetic education.

“MR & MRS KIDNEY'S PLEA”

In the intricate landscape of the human frame,
Mr. Brain orchestrates, earning acclaim,
Arrived the day of World Kidney's might,
A time for reflection, under the sunlight.

With fervor, Mr. Brain sought to explore,
The inner workings, the body's grandeur.
But a sight caught his eye, a troubling sight,
Mr. and Mrs. Kidney, enshrouded in plight.

Approaching with care, Brain inquired,
On this day of homage, why such distress?
"Pray tell, why wear such a visage,
Speak, dear organs, your troubles and stress”

Mr. Kidney, with solemnity, did reply,
"Though we toil tirelessly, our spirits run dry.
Infodemics plague, a relentless swell,
And amidst the chaos, we falter and dwell."

With gravity, Mrs. Kidney revealed the strain,
"From junk food indulgence, to gut's dysbiosis bane,
Unchecked fitness fads, leading to unbidden woes,
Unauthorized high protein, where creatinine flows.

It's not just to***co or alcohol's sway,
But fast foods, fad diets, they indulge every day.
Self-prescribed potions, cyberchondria's game,
They bring me anguish, they're all the same.

Supplements they gobble, without a clue,
Thinking it's health, but they misconstrue,
Their cravings overpower, they don't heed the call,
To take necessary meds, they neglect it all.

Gut dysbiosis, it wreaks its own havoc,
Their gut health neglected, it's a problematic traffic,
They ignore the balance, the harmony within,
Causing chaos, allowing diseases to begin.

Oh, brain, I beseech you, spread the word,
Of the harm they inflict, let it be heard.
Encourage wise choices, mindful actions to take,
For the sake of my well-being, for health's sake.

"Ah, I grasp," nodded Brain, with a learned nod,
The ramifications clear, of each misguided prod,
Turning to spread wisdom, far and wide,
Of the perils unchecked, where wellness resides.

In verse and in discourse, the tale unfurled,
Of kidneys beleaguered, in the tumultuous world.
For on World Kidney Day, and every day hence,
Nurturing our bodies, become common sense.

Margazhi, the sacred Tamil month, is celebrated for its devotion, mindfulness, and harmony with nature. Among its many traditions, the use of Sankhupushpam (Butterfly Pea Flower) in rituals and pujas holds special significance. This vibrant blue flower, associated with purity and wisdom, is often offered to deities like Lord Ganesha. Its conch-like shape (“shankha”) symbolizes auspiciousness and spiritual clarity, making it a perfect addition to Margazhi rituals, where mornings resonate with devotional songs, intricate kolams, and prayers for blessings.

Sankhupushpam’s spiritual significance is mirrored by its revered place in Ayurveda and Siddha Medicine. In Ayurveda, it is a medhya rasayana, or mind rejuvenator, enhancing memory, reducing anxiety, and promoting emotional balance. Its cooling properties help balance Pitta dosha, reducing stress and irritability. Often included in herbal remedies, it soothes the nervous system, supports restful sleep, and boosts cognitive function.

The Siddha system, rooted in Tamil Nadu, views Sankhupushpam as a versatile herb for holistic wellness. Known as “Sangu Poo,” it is used for mental health, improving vision, promoting skin and hair health, and in Kaayakalpam (anti-aging treatments) to enhance vitality. Additionally, its detoxifying properties support liver and kidney health, aligning with Margazhi’s emphasis on purification and harmony.

Modern Nutritional Psychology bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary wellness, highlighting Sankhupushpam’s benefits for mental health. Its anthocyanin content provides stress relief, cognitive support, and emotional resilience. Regular consumption aids hormonal balance, respiratory health, and overall well-being.

A simple Sankhupushpam Tea combines tradition with wellness:

Take 10 butterfly pea flowers, remove stalks, and wash thoroughly.
Boil in water until it turns blue. Strain and sweeten with honey.
For a magical color change, add a spoonful of lemon juice to turn the tea purple.
Margazhi traditions and the use of Sankhupushpam remind us of the timeless connection between body, mind, and nature. Whether offered in devotion, consumed as tea, or embraced for its medicinal properties, this flower embodies the harmony and wisdom that continue to inspire modern wellness practices.

Today, as we celebrate the brilliance of Srinivasa Ramanujan on National Mathematics Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on a deeply human side of his story. Despite his unmatched genius, Ramanujan’s life was cut short, in part due to malnutrition and the illnesses it made him vulnerable to. This isn’t just a historical fact—it’s a stark reminder of how fragile even the brightest flames can be without the basic nourishment they need to thrive.

What more he could have given the world if only his body had been as supported as his mind. Imagine how many other Ramanujans—brilliant, creative, full of potential—are lost every day to something as preventable as malnutrition.

Fighting malnutrition is about more than food; it’s about giving every person the chance to reach their fullest potential. It’s about ensuring that genius isn’t extinguished by something we can change. Let’s work toward a world where no one, no matter where they come from, has to fight their body while trying to share their gifts with the world. Let’s nourish potential and save lives—because every life, every mind, matters.

SILENT SHADOWS OF BETRAYAL
(A Reflection on Infidelity and Blame)

In an age where technology and progress soar,
Global tides open every door
A shadow persists, hidden from sight,
Betrayal’s sting, a silent blight.

“He left because you lacked,” they whisper low,
“She strayed because you didn’t let your love show.”
Voices of blame echo through time,
Turning victims into culprits for another’s crime.

Endurance, they preach, is the victim’s plight,
To bear the storm, to dim their light.
But why must the betrayed bear this blame,
While the faithless walk without any shame?

As a psychologist, my heart heavy and sore,
Witnessing victims crushed, silenced, and ignored.
Blamed for the betrayal that wasn’t their crime,
Made to endure through society’s grime.

Even their mothers, the ones who gave life,
Urge them to stay, to endure the strife.
How can a world so connected and wise,
Let empathy falter, let compassion capsize?

This isn’t justice; this isn’t right,
To shroud the betrayed in guilt’s heavy night.
Their worth isn’t diminished, their spirit not flawed,
Infidelity speaks of the unfaithful’s facade.

My social anger burns fierce and bright,
For the voices silenced, for the hearts that fight.
I cry for change, for truth to prevail,
For compassion to rise where empathy fails.

Let no victim bear shame that’s not their own,
Let no soul be left to suffer alone.
For those betrayed, their stories I defend,
A psychologist’s vow: to help them mend.

The Whirlwind of Love
(A Breast Cancer Awareness Poem)

In the whirlwind of love we give,
We forget the body in which we live.
Tireless hands that nurture, heal,
Yet often deny what they need to feel.

But there’s strength in the pause, the quiet care,
In knowing we must be aware,
Of breasts that whisper, bodies that plea,
For a moment's notice, a mindful decree.

Women sacrifice, day by day,
Their health, their strength, along the way.
Children, home, and all that's near,
But ignoring self-care feeds silent fear.

This sacrifice, though wrapped in care,
Is a burden no one should bear.
For love must begin with you first,
Or in neglect, health will be cursed.
