-Dr.Sandeep.Kunhikannan is one of the prominent young gastroenterologists in Kerala.
-He has earned his entire medical acumen (MBBS&MD&DM) from the Calicut Medical College.
-He has worked as a tenure track Senior Lecturer in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Calicut Medical College.
-He is adept in Upper GI and Lower GI scopies.
-His articles have been published in high impact international journals like Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility & Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hepatology.
-He has won the Best MD General Medicine Thesis Award (among residents) in State.
-During undergraduate (MBBS) days, he won first prize in IAP (Indian academy of paediatrics)quiz at state level and third prize at South india(zonal level). -He won first for the Dermatology quiz at college and third at state level.
-He secured first prize for intercollegiate MEDICINE quiz at state level conducted at AIMS, Cochin.
-He won the Pathology Gold Medal at Calicut Medical College.
-He won 1st for the Psychiatry Quiz organised by Indian Psychiatry Society at Calicut Medical College and 2nd at Kerala State.
-He secured 3rd for All Kerala Intercollegiate Medicine Quiz (MEDI CHALLENGE) conducted at Kottayam Medical College. He has also bagged several other such achievements during his career
-He used to take PG medical entrance classes for young junior doctors. He was the Calicut Medical College alumni pg (MED PG UPDATE )chief medical entrance co-ordinator. He is also taking pg medical entrance sessions at Calicut, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Chennai etc etc .
-He had taken health education classes in various forums for the public. He has participated and presented papers in many national/international conferences and workshops
-.He is known for his excellent leadership quality. He was the State Secretary of KMPGA (Kerala Medical Postgraduates Association) and KMPGA Calicut chapter president in 2009.
-He was also the Calicut GUT CLUB Secretary (2016-2017).
-In 2019,he presented his paper in the Historic DRILLS 2019(Decisions Reasoning Innovations & Learning In Liver Diseases-DRILLS)NATIONAL Conference, the confluence of the luminaries. -Currently he is working as the Chief Consultant Interventional Gastroenterologist at National Hospital Calicut, Kerala.Also working as Visiting Consultant Gastroenterologist at KMCT Medical College(Mukkam),Santhi Hospital(Omasseri)&St Joseph hospital (Agasthyamuzhi)
