"The Art of Us," such a cool name, so excited to see Valentina creating much needed offerings for couples in my hometown, Auckland. Such a brave and revolutionary offering and exactly where it is needed: the masculine and the feminine softening and folding with strength, hopefully, into each other with Love. NZ is not an easy environment to thrive in, but if anyone can do it, Valentina can. Please support her. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRQdBqeE1qM/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=eTlkenZmN2pmdzhl

Love our People: learning, growing, sharing, without judgment, softly. Share the Love and the Knowledge as Bertrand Russell used to say.

"Love is more fundamental, as it motivates intelligent individuals to seek knowledge to benefit those they care for, while knowledge ensures that love is not misguided by ignorance."

Knowledge dispels ignorance in Ta**ra.

🌊🏝️Every week we head to the beach to play in the sand. We start with hand stands, peacock, headstands. We support each other and play, even if you don’t think you can, I guarantee you will get a taste of being upside down and exploring another experience of yourself.

Then we build our strength and coordination with all the games we played as kids; cart wheels, wheelbarrow, jumping jacks, etc.

The most important part of the beach exercises, and this entire system is we play and explore as the divine celebrating herself.

✨ Divine Play — Līlā! ✨

Why do we speak about "play" at the Ashram?

At the heart of Indic philosophy, līlā means play—not ordinary play, but the joyful, cosmic dance of creation itself! 💫

From Kṛṣṇa's moonlit rāsalīlā with Rādhā and the gopīs of Vṛndāvan—where Rādhā, the rāsa (essence of joy), unites with Kṛṣṇa, the līlā-puruṣa (the playful Supreme Soul)—to Śiva's Tāṇḍava, the cosmic dance of creation where nāda (primordial sound) arises from bindu (the point of potential manifestation), the universe reveals itself as a divine sport of consciousness. 🌙💃🔥

In the Ta***ic version, this līlā is the spontaneous pulsation (spanda) of Śiva, the supreme puruṣa (pure consciousness), reflected through Śakti, the radiant prakṛti (creative nature) that manifests all worlds. Their eternal interplay—sṛṣṭi (creation), sthiti (sustenance), and saṁhāra (dissolution)—flows in ānanda (bliss), the very rhythm of existence itself. ⚡🕉️

Every heartbeat, every breath, every flicker of perception is part of this spanda—consciousness delighting in its own Infinite play. 🎶 So when you dance, sing, or explore your bliss and shadow selves—remember—you are part of the cosmic līlā too! 💖🌍

Everyone, playfully exploring the dance of līlā at the Kovalam Ashram. Thank-you everyone for being there! 🙏✨🤎🙏🏾✨

✨ In the Vedas, ॐ is the source of Light—Prakāśa—symbolizing the Infinite or Brahman.
In North India, this Light is remembered as Rāma's return to Ayodhyā after 14 years of exile, symbolizing the victory of dharma. In the South, the day before Deepāvali marks Kṛṣṇa’s triumph over Narakāsura.
Sikhs celebrate Bandi Chhor Divas on Diwali, marking Guru Hargobind’s release from prison. The illumination of the Golden Temple aligns with the concept of divine light (Jyoti), resonating with Ik Ōṅkār (the One Universal Creator).
The Torah and Bible (Genesis 1:3) also revere this Divine Light (Yĕhî ’ôr wa-yĕhî ’ôr יְהִי אוֹר וַיְהִי אוֹר in Hebrew)—“Let there be Light”—seen as the beginning of creation. In the Qur’ān, Sūrah al-Anʿām(6.1), it is said: “All Praise be to Allah; Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darkness and the light.”

This is why Diwali (or Deepāvali) shines so brightly across faiths and cultures—because Light transcends all boundaries.
🌟 Wishing everyone a blessed Festival of Light!

🪞 Clearing the Inner Mirror
In Traditional Ta**ra Yoga, vyāyāma (supportive practice or Standing Series), passed down through oral teachings in our system, is more than just a physical warm-up. It acts as a holistic preparation, physically, energetically, and psychologically.
Vyāyāma is included to:
* Prepare the subtle body for deeper āsana and meditation
* Release habitual tension patterns, allowing one to feel safe and grounded
* Increase circulation and internal heat, helping to dissolve tamas (inertia) and rajas (restlessness)
* Cultivate natural sensitivity and somatic or bodily awareness, without force or strain
* Guide the body into skeletal alignment, allowing structure to support stillness
Across many traditions, including Ta**ra, the true Self is inherently pure and luminous, yet veiled by conditioning.
Just as a mirror covered with dust does not reflect clearly, so too the Self remains unseen due to impurity (mala). Through gradual purification (śuddhi), the yogin begins to shine. This mirror metaphor, also found in various meditative traditions such as Zen Buddhism, reflects a shared insight: the true Self is revealed once the “dust” of distraction, reactivity, and mental patterning is cleared.
Through movement, breath, and awareness, vyāyāma becomes a mirror-cleaning practice, not just for the body, but for the core inner Self to once again behold its own innate luminosity (prakāśa).✨
