Day 2 colour

 is green. On this day, Goddess Brahmacharini is worshipped. The green colour signifies new beginnings and growth. Goddess Brahmacharini appears in the form of a maiden girl filled with wisdom. She has two hands carrying a rosary and a kamandal. She blesses the devotees with eternal knowledge and bliss. The term Brahamacharini means the unmarried and youthful one. The benign and peaceful form of Brahmacharini brings serenity and calmness to the minds and instills a great degree of self-confidence in people.

Story of 

Maa Brahmacharini

After the Goddess took the form of Kushmanda, the incarnation of Brahmacharini followed. Parvati took birth in the home of Daksha Prajapati who had a deep contempt for Lord Shiva. Her maiden form is worshipped as Brahmacharini. The Goddess undertook severe penance to get a good father in her next birth who would respect Lord Shiva. She walked barefoot and did several thousands of years of penance to attain Lord Shiva in marriage. She lived on flowers and fruits and later only leaves and stopped even that eventually, living on mere air. Therefore, Brahmacharini came to be called Aparna too (one who lived even without leaves).

 7 अक्टूबर से शारदीय नवरात्रि की शुरुआत हो गई है। नवरात्रि के दौरान मां के 9 रूपों की पूजा- अर्चना की जाती है। नवरात्रि के दूसरे दिन मां के द्वितीय स्वरूप मां ब्रह्मचारिणी की पूजा- अर्चना की जाती है।  मां ब्रह्मचारिणी की पूजा करने से व्यक्ति को अपने कार्य में सदैव विजय प्राप्त होता है। मां ब्रह्मचारिणी दुष्टों को सन्मार्ग दिखाने वाली हैं। माता की भक्ति से व्यक्ति में तप की शक्ति, त्याग, सदाचार, संयम और वैराग्य जैसे गुणों में वृद्धि होती है।

Signs and Symptoms of Dengue

Most people infected have mild or no symptoms. About 1 in 4 people infected with dengue will get sick. Mild symptoms of dengue may be confused with other illnesses that cause fever and flu-like illness. Most people will recover after about one week.

The most common symptoms are fever and one or more of the following:

Headache

Eye pain (typically behind the eyes)

Muscle, joint, or bone pain

Rash

Nausea and vomiting

Unusual bleeding (nose or gum bleed, small red spots under the skin, or unusual bruising)

Severe dengue is an emergency. Recognize the warning signs.

Warning signs: Watch for signs and symptoms of severe dengue to develop 24-48 hours after fever goes away.

If you or a family member develops any of these warning signs, go to a local clinic or emergency room immediately:

Stomach or belly pain, tenderness

Vomiting (at least 3 times in 24 hours)

Bleeding from the nose or gums

Vomiting blood, or blood in the stool

Feeling tired, restless, or irritable

If you think you may have dengue

See your healthcare provider.

Your healthcare provider may order tests to look for dengue or similar viruses, like chikungunya or Zika.

If you are sick with dengue

Take acetaminophen or paracetamol to control fever and relieve pain. Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen.

Get plenty of rest and drink fluids to prevent dehydration.

Rest in a screened or air-conditioned room or under a bed net while you have a fever.

Avoid infection by preventing mosquito bites. Mosquitoes that spread dengue virus bite during the day and night.
