Honoured and humbled to have presented at the 10th International Orthodontic Congress of the World Federation of Orthodontists, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 🇧🇷.
My oral presentation on “Ortho-esthetic management of mutilated malocclusions – unique situations, individualised solutions” highlighted the diversity of clinical challenges faced in cases of mutilation — arising from dental causes (endodontic, periodontal, prosthetic), traumatic injuries, developmental defects such as clefts, and other complex scenarios.
The focus was on crafting individualised biomechanical and esthetic approaches rather than relying on a “cookbook” protocol, and demonstrating long-term stability — in some cases, with follow-ups extending over two decades post-retention.
Deeply grateful to the World Federation of Orthodontists for this opportunity and humbled to have represented India for the fourth consecutive time — following earlier presentations at the WFO Congresses in Sydney (2010), London (2015), Yokohama – virtual (2020), and now Rio (2025).
Every such experience reaffirms my belief that orthodontics, at its core, is about empathy, precision, and the pursuit of enduring excellence.
